I want to buy a recumbent stationary bike for my apartment. I'm not rich, so I'm looking at <$200. Does anybody have any advice for buying? I just want something that works, if it breaks in a couple of years that's fine but I don't want a hunk of junk that will break after a few uses.
What's the quality like of the cheap models? Like pic-related, at

Are the cheap models complete garbage or will they do? I'm always a little hesistant buying the cheapest models of anything, especially when there are models >$1,000, but I'd rather not spend more than a couple hundred if I don't have to

Join a gym and stop being a retard

My apartment complex has a weight room that works well enough. But the only cardio is a treadmill and I can't run.
But sure, you can just be an asshole instead of giving any real advice.
Join a gym.. it's better to get fit outside the house...I had a treadmill and found every excuse not to use it, or cut my runs short. Sold it for the equivalent of 20 years of a gym membership.

Most of these things under at least $500 are complete crap and feel like crap so you'll never use it.
There's a reason gym quality ergometers cost up to $3000.

I don't want to join a gym just for cardio when I already have a weight room at my apartment.

Can you explain what you mean by "feel like crap"? I'm good at motivating myself so unless the cheap ones will lead to injury or something I can make myself use it.
Cheap 90s - early 2000s road bike on Craigslist.
I have a stationary bike at home that I never use. I don't like exercising alone, so I agree you should just get a gym pass and might as well keep your apartment clean.
To actually answer your question

I have to say that there is almost no difference between the quality of my $125 recumbent bike and the expensive high tier bikes at my gym. I can get the same amount of sweat pouring from my face if I push myself at home, I just prefer exercising outside my home.
