Why use protein shakes when you can eat greek yoghurt or cottage cheese?

Exclude allergy reasons in your explanations.

I have heard there can be lots of added shit in protein powders - unless going for higher quality ones, at which point isn't that more expensive than my suggested two options.

It's easier and more convenient for me to just take a few big gulps of a shake.

I can understand somwhwat. I'm not sure it's that much more conevnient. A medium pot of yoghurt can be eaten in a minute or so.

And when I want a snack a 500g yoghurt pot is a 300 cal meal with 50g protein in it.

it's one of the cheapest forms of protein

it's very convenient, i can put down 72g of protein in a few seconds instead of sitting around eating yogurt for an hour

also the calorie/protein ratio for whey is better than for greek yogurt (only non-fat greek comes close, at 100/18 for Fage) or for cottage cheese which makes it a good choice when cutting

a 17.6 oz container of non-fat greek yogurt has 46 g of protein, which is as good as macros on greek yogurt or cottage cheese get, so I would need to eat 27.5 oz of non-fat greek yogurt to get the same protein as I can get in a few seconds with 3 scoops of whey in water

that's a fuckload of yogurt and you cannot eat it in a minute

It's a much much cheaper form of protein.

Okay I will agree with you about the convenience then.

The price thing I'm not quite sure on. Yoghurt in UK not too expensive from my local.

The yoghurt and cottage cheese I find works better to fill me up whilst providing the protein. Maybe this just fits better with my preference and my goals of lifting and cutting. Each to their own.

Understood now.

I find the yoghurt fills me and helps me to stay under my daily calories easier.

Guess it's just a matter of preference.

Those other options are more expensive in bulk than powder, in my country.

Its sometimes that simple
