Become a chicken farmer. You'll make tons of money, then you can afford to buy fancy chicken.

Local supermarket's deli counter. Buying by the pound from the deli display is 3x cheaper than in styrafoam on display. Only downside is that it doesn't last quite as long.

Check your farmer's market. For some reason my farmer's market always has either chicken breast or chicken thighs for 1.69/lb, and they're way better quality than the standard super market.
