Jesus, I cringe reading this, but there is literally nothing I can do about it. I enter situations like this once or twice every day.
I know the question itself is autistic, but what am I supposed to do? Look straight forwards? Is giving everyone the death stare the right approach?
Most people I meet tend to look down into the ground but I suspect that's because so far I've been using approach 2 a lot.

Throw a glance and look straight forward otherwise. If you wanna seem sympathetic, smile when you make eye contact. For the love of god, don't stare at someone for more than a 1 or 2 seconds unless you want to approach and talk to them. Even then, this might seem creepy.
Are you literally retarded ? Like honestly ? You might want to see the doctor .
Everybody feels that way man
Some deal with it by actually making contact and saying hi
Or a smile
Or just look down and avoid any awkwardness
Life's too short to overthink these things
