As a PL routine it has problems, for general strength it's better depending on how you do it and what you add in

Personally I've had great squat gains from it but that's literally it. I use TM progression for my squats and weighted pull ups, and some other routines for different body parts eg nuckols bench 3x for bench.

You are kind of losing your back tightness in the hole it seems. Keep it locked in extension.

Also, lrn2HipDrahve. Your clearly going up with your chest faster than your hips, and you can get away with that with the relatively light weight. Your hips should rise out of the hole the same speed as your chest, causing your back angle relative to the floor to stay constant at the start of the ascent.

What do you think about when going up? Contracting glutes?

Deadlifting you want a neutral spine, slight upper back rounding is pretty normal but not ideal. Yes work on your form first, good form will make you more efficient at the lift which means faster progress as well.

It's no secret I've never liked powerlifting and competed in it only because it was a relatively cheap and easy way for me to prove the efficacy of my training methods... which don't center around the powerlifts. If you are running TM, I don't want you to run RTS. I have a strong believe that you do not have the ability to gauge your RPE correctly.

Bench press moves so slowly compared to squat and squats may drain you on VD so your 3-6 rep stays 3 on some days and 5 then back to 4 on some weeks. Intensity days are ofc the most important in TM but with your protocol, you will stall out quickly.

I don't think you know have much it takes to even make a 5 kg jump in bench. It requires so much pressing, even more than what TM prescribes, which is why people stall on bench on TM. You are only doing 5-7 "hard " sets.

I generally don't recommned TM for bench but since you asked I can give you a general outline to a higher volume of pressing

VD:
6x4, last set is touch and go, rest is paused

RD
2x5 bench paused
2x5 2-3 count paused bench

In general I think it's better to add sets than you always think about adding weight.
To bench more, you have to bench more, but sometimes that is not enough. Ever wonder why Bros in the gym have impressive benches but shit squat? They never squat but they go hard on chest on bench press, flies, pec deck etc. You are going to need other ways to progress on bench other than simply benching (dips, flies, db presses etc).

When you stall, and the only pressing movement you do is bench, you are on trouble. This is where you can choose to bench more (to bench more) or to add variation.

Your squats look pretty good - below parallel and you seem to understand how to hip drive, but that isn't the best angle. Rear oblique in future plz.

Your hips on the press are all fucked up. To get an idea of what you should be doing with them, put your hands on them and shove them forward hard until you feel it in the quads. You'll naturally bounce back to normal - that bounce back to neutral is what gets the bar started off your shoulders. What you're currently doing is popping your hips back, then forward, which puts your spine in a weak position when it should be tight to create a solid base for you to drive up.

Your back rounds like nobody's biz in the deadlift because you're trying to yank the weight up way too fast. Squeeze the bar up, slowly, keeping in contact with your legs the whole way up.

5x5 has proven to work and I see no need to autoregulate when you are so new to lifting.
On some days your 5x3=15 reps is not enough to drive progress.
5x5 at moderate intensity is more volume than you can produce at a heavy 5x3.


It's better you add sets or have a rep goal. Like your rep goal could be 30 and you do as many sets as it takes to hit 30, even if it takes you 30 sets. This is an easy way to autoregulate TM benching without gauging RPE every set. On good days it may take you 5 sets, on bad days, maybe 8 if squats were really hard.
