How the fuck do you quit?

Find something to replace it with
>good luck kiddo
I am insanely addicted to the internet. As in I spend most of the day playing vidya or lurking, and it seriously messes with my ability to make rational choices and priorities. My real life is basically non-existent, I had an extremely oidepal and over-protective mother that made sure of this, and I'm also probably autistic and/or have ADHD (making the internet seem more pleasurable).
I can't just quit it cold turkey because it contains every fkn service I need and whenever I try I realize I have to plug in the router to do some taxes or something and then I'm back.
How the fuck do you get rid of this addiction? Smoking was easy compared to this.

But that's the catch 22. At this point I'd need to stop BEFORE I can find something. I'm just too far gone to even initiate non-internet stuff.

no, stopping without having a replacement will not work
you will be instantly looking for comparable stimulus and NOTHING can compare unless you get a gf/irl friends and start doing shit together (eg. working out, sports, etc)

yeah, there was some study with a bunch of rats and water. Both groups of rats had access to normal water and water with heroin. One group was living in a playhouse cage and the other was living in a boring cage with nothing to do. The rats who lived in the boring cage got addicted to the heroin water, while those living in the playhouse cage preferred normal water and never got addicted.

This, internet serves as an escape. People use it to distract themselves from their problems.
