WHY CAN'T I DB LATERAL RAISE MORE THAN 6KG DBs REEEEEEEEEEEE

WHY CAN'T I DB LATERAL RAISE MORE THAN 6KG DBs REEEEEEEEEEEE
Been repping them out for sets of 15+ for some time now but if I ever try to do them with the 8kgs I absolutely can't get more than 5 reps
Also favourite shoulder exercises?

why do you give a shit what you lateral raise?

just do them for higher reps, and progress when you can in weight (once in a blue moon - over the course of your lifting career you might only get up to 30lb lateral raises with good form)

no, OHP and lateral raises serve different purposes

OHP is primarily a front delt exercise, you will get some minor lateral delt involvement depending on how much your elbows flare out

rear delts are hit somewhat with rows/pullups, but ideally you should isolate those too

side delts are hit more with DB OHP (because you can use more flare in the motion, you can't do it with a barbell because it would be noclipping through your head in the bottom portion of the ROM), but the most direct way to hit them is with lateral raises

tl;dr: complete shoulder workout has a vertical press, lateral raises, and rear delt work

In my case it took doing different exercises. I started doing ohp 5x5, rear lats, front lat raise, and bent over rows.

Big Z on lat raises.

Works pretty well, can get full ROM without cheating at 15kg now.

I started doing OHP on Push day and lateral raises & face pulls on Pull day, making good delt gains this way. Like everyone is saying, lateral raises are always going to use pretty light DBs.
