I tried football when I was in 8th grade, I pussied out and quit since I just wasn't a very physical person - having to tackle people scared me so much I'd get physically sick.

When I told my parents I wanted to quit, he made me call the coach and tell him over the phone. That was honestly one of the lowest points in my entire life that I still can't get over, just the sound of disappointment from running into everyone "hey why haven't you been at practice?"

I was 6'1" maybe 175-80 lbs at the time, now I'm 6'4", had I started playing earlier when all those other guys started and grew into it I probably couldv'e stuck with it, but when I first started I was playing with guys who already been playing 5+ years and I just couldn't handle it.

Went to a smaller uni to play for a good education, left because the school wasn't worth the money, transferred to another uni and was cut because I couldn't run right because of knee injuries. Decided to end it and focus on other stuff because no nfl future.

No regrets, but you gotta know when to give it up. It's fun while it lasts but everyone's ride ends eventually and you can't be that incredibly sad guy who still hangs on to his glory days.

It is possible to get recruited at such a low weight or walk onto a Low Div I to Div III team, but if ya dont gain 50-100 pounds by the end of high school, youre outta luck.

At my uni which is in the Big Sky conference (NAU), there was a tight end that was 6'4" and 180 his freshman year. He reached 6'5" and 230 by junior year and eventually became a starter. There was an offensive lineman who was like 6'2" and 240 and could only bench 275 as a soph, still made starting squad a season later. This was confirmed by dudes I knew on the team.

Its possible, but not preferable and will bar you from high quality programs and good scholarships.

This happened at BYU. It was a Tongan dude, and he was 400 lbs, not 300. He had played rugby as a kid and had athletic talent. They didnt just pick him at random.

As well, there was an outside linebacker Ezekiel Ansah. He was and is 6'6" and 275 lbs. He had played basketball for many years but got cut from the BYU team. He is now a defensive end for the Detroit lions.

Although he got cut from the team, there was this 6'9" and 260 pound monster of a kid who looked like he belonged on a Nazi Germany propaganda poster- looked like a Aryan "master race" ideal. His name was Matt, thats all I remember. He decided to try football his JR year of high school because he was bored and got stuck on the JV team and started on varsity the next season. Still was on the BYU roster for one season, started for two games, and disappeared. Didnt go on a mission trip or anything afaik. Probably dropped out.

In Highschool I was 6'3" 230-240 lbs at Noseguard. It was rough because my next door neighbor was the wrestling coach so he made me cut down to 195 for wrestling season because he had no on good in that slot, and the 220 was some 6'5" fag who didn't want to cut.
