Sup lads. Just hit a weight where I can see abs and I think it's time to start bulking. I've been reading a lot on "lean" bulking and I have a few questions.
>How much above maintenance should I eat on workout days? I'm thinking 100-300?
>Do I eat above maintenance on rest days too? Or maintenance, or below?
>Typical macros you'd recommend?

First, checked
Second, I can only really speak to my experiences but I've had the bes results when bulking EXTREMELY slowly. Obviously the leaner you are, the better your bulk will go since you'll more easily tack on muscle than fat
>How much above maintenance should I eat on workout days? I'm thinking 100-300?
Yes
>Do I eat above maintenance on rest days too? Or maintenance, or below?
It's up to you, but I'd say eat above or at maintenance. Avoid going below since you want to optimize your recovery and still have some calories left around to go into muscle-building/protein synthesis. Obviously if you're maintaining on rest days it'll slow your rate of weight gain down, but ultimately it's up to you.
>Typical macros you'd recommend?
I've had good results with P40/F25/C35 but as with the rest of this post YMMV. Everyone is different

Thanks! Very helpful

should also clarify that I train for strength so if your goals are different my advice might not be super useful, but I'd advocate against dreamer bulking/suicide cutting in any case

I personally eat 300 cals above maintenance every day, even on resting days. Been gaining lean muscle with little to no fat.
I think the best way to find your optimum cals above maintenance for lean bulking is to use bodyfat calipers. Measure every day and keep increasing your cals until you notice that you're gianing fat, then decrease cals until you're not gaining any more fat but are gaining weight.
By measuring your bodyfat every day, you start to see a trend, even if it isn't 100% accurate.
>Typical macros you'd recommend?
1.5-2g protein per kg of bodyweight is a good guideline.
