do you feel it when you take a deep breath?
do you feel it when activating your lower traps during a normal activity? (get out of bed)
if so, I get that sometimes. Tweaked trap. Slow foam roll and sleep. I think I pull it in my sleep, either sleeping funny or being a spazz or something

DUDE finally someone with the same issue.
Don't know what it is, I feel like a deep tissue massage is necessary though because applying hard pressure actually helps

Do you have scoliosis/lordosis ?

Also, do you sit in weird position (with your back curved)
You need to stretch your shoulders. Especially when lifting. Slowly let them go forward as possible in rows then pull them back before moving your arms

I'm neither if the anons above, but I get this while doing pulling motions using back muscles. I've got diagnosed scoliosis and lordosis...
So far it's never been so painful I have to stop anything, but it's very noticable. It almost feels like there's... A folding or pulling of tissue going on, but when recording my back during pulls, it doesn't look out of the ordinary.

http://danogborn.com/the-lats-scapula-debate/
You might have this lat syndrome thing where some of the fibers of latissimus dorsi attach to your scapula. I had this too on my left side. One time deep tissue massage helped me along with stretching
It's a knot in the tissue. Move your scapula to the side and lie on a lacrosse ball.

Exactly the same issue but with varying degrees of pain. Most of the time it goes numb. Was at the doc and after a xray and a mri there was nothing. He said I have some minor scoliosis and I should do streches and recommended a massage therapist. It gets better after a while. Go see a doctor just to be sure.
