I get what murray was saying in his interview, but I think it can be taken both ways, clearly the interviewer was talking about mens tennis when he made his comment, not some intentional or unintended sexist comment.

it's like when john mcenroe said serena was the best womans tennis player and the interviewer got all pissed about him mentioning "woman" tennis player, "why not just greatest tennis player?"

because she is not the best tennis player in the world, probably not even top 50 if we're including men. same as when they say flloyd mayweather is the best pound for pound fighter. put him up against a light heavyweight and he'll probably lose even in his prime.
