"Endurance athletes can't lift weights to gain muscle they wouldn't otherwise build" -No one ever
>>42127612
that photoshop on that DICK
>>42127852
if you're competing in endurance you want to be as light as possible, so you could train for gains but it would be retarded

Marcel Kittel squats 120kg for his volume training in the off season. If he's like other cyclists, that means he's doing it for 3x10 at least.

they still have to complete like 200km of cycling every single day and can't finish something like 30 minutes after the race winner in a ~5 hour day of cycling
just because they sprint at the end doesn't mean they aren't endurance athletes

in cycling the climbing specialists are the skinny ones, the sprinters normally have more mass although some are skinny-ish. I wish they had the equivalent of this in running

lots of people have said that doing multiple hours of steady state cardio will kill your gains even with lifting

>lots of people have said that doing multiple hours of steady state cardio will kill your gains even with lifting
Lots of people are lazy pieces of shit that want to come up with excuses not to train the most important muscle you have: your heart.

Former endurance athlete/skelly here. It's so difficult to make gains while training for endurance because of time but mostly calories.
Running 60-70mi per week, 10mi per day, I was at caloric maintenance at about 3,800cal per day.

Yes, it's hard, but it can be done. Marathon time is 15 minutes faster in right pic than left
>MFW I got 1000lb total before 1/2/3/4
>>42129638
how fast are your running times lad?
also height/weight?
>>42129759
Current height/weight - 5'8/165lbs
Marathon - 3:15 (Still working up to a BQ. Progress is slower than if I only ran, but I'm on track for it)
5k - 18:40
