Tobacco is absolutely not a meme. I started smoking again two years ago and my voice is obviously deeper. The last girl that i was hooking up with said hearing my voice alone would turn her on.

Smoking is bad for you, though, so weigh the pros and cons.

This is all there is to it.

You can actually start by making sound with basically just at the back of your mouth and nearly all the way down to the very bottom of your throat right at the start of your chest, and anywhere in between.

The more relaxed you are and your throat is when speaking the further down your voice will move naturally. If your energy is high (energy as in excitement, your mental state, not chakra or some shit), or you're nervous/anxious your voice will naturally come from higher and higher in your throat.

I think this is actually why lower voices are seen as strong and masculine. You have to be relaxed, and in control to have a deep voice at all times.
