of course it can be done. that's the entire reason you workout while you diet (other than the fact it aids in getting rid of fat), so when you get rid of the fat you have some muscle underneath to show for it.

You can't make gains while cutting, but you can add LBM no problem.

im pretty sure i read somewhere that if u keep weightloss to 1% per week, while maintaining a postivie nitrogen balance(i.e. high protein) u can gain a little bit of muscle while cutting
