Can we have a hygiene thread? While being swole is great, no one would want to be near you if you smell like ass or look horrible. Gotta maintain looks too. I'll start things off.
Do you guys just use water to rinse your body after workouts? I've been using Dove soap almost every single day. It doesn't seem to dry out my skin though as much as other soaps like Irish Spring or Dial soap; if I use non-Dove soaps, my skin feels painfully squeaky clean. I do worry if this'll kill the crucial oils on your skin for overuse.
I also hear the same for shampooing your hair everyday. However, my hair doesn't look right if I don't wash every morning. It's a damned if you do situation.
Dove makes me feel greasy. I use safeguard soap.

For my hygiene I pretty much just shower 1 to 2 times a day depending on what I was doing making sure to just use cold or lukewarm water. Have some axe soap that I usent every time, and head and shoulders that I use around every three days. I never have a problem with dry skin

don't use most bar soap, it's the wrong acidity for your skin from what I've read. I usually use a sodium laureth sulfate free body wash, and I've found that helps my keratosis pilaris a bit (although regular moisture and sun exposure makes a bigger difference imo)
but wtf do I do about my swamp ass? I'm a 26yo, 6', 170# guy but I sweat like a fucking lardass, especially from my gooch. sometimes I have to go to the bathroom just to wipe, and the sweat has a poopy smell, even if I cleaned up well after my last shit (or showered previously)
I've tried trimming my gooch hair, and I'm going to switch to moisture wicking boxers rather than these shitty cotton hanes, but damn it pisses me off. I avoid chinos on hot days because I occasionally get an ass sweat mark :^(

bro just get some fucking soap
I have a few guidelines for my hygiene.
- only wash entire body if dirty and/or if haven't bathed in more than 24 hours
- wash hair every other day
- wash face every other day (unless excessively dirty)
- always wash entire self after a sweaty workout
- wash underarms, pubic area, butt, and feet every day (backs of thighs too if have used a public restroom that day)
- always use lotion on entire body after shower
- exfoliate body and face once a week
Apply and reapply deodorant in the morning and afternoon. Use cologne/perfume once in the morning at base of throat and behind ears.

I never use soap (I scrub using my hand around, armpits, dick and use detachable shower head to get my ass) and never wash my hair. I also really use antiperspirant, only if I know I'm going to get really sweaty while I'm out that day and in that case it's to reduce sweat patches. At most I spray some cologne if I'm going on a date or whatever. Brush my teeth twice a though because I'm not a savage.
I constantly get told I smell good

the SLS-free thing sounds more intense than it is, just get Dr. Bronner's that shit is dope. a lot of people have SLS sensitivity and don't know it, it can't hurt to try.
plus I hate the feeling that bar soap leaves on my skin after a shower

I shower 3 days a week (doing SS so I shower after every workout).
I only use a little shampoo, and make a point to get a shampoo that has moisturizer in it. I don't use soap: most of them makee break out and I feel like I have a film of oil on me after. I use a body wash instead.
I never wash my face with anything. I found that water and a good scrubber is all you need to keep zits and dried skin away.

I shower after each workout, because I sweat like hell.
Use Dove for Men, one body wash and one for my hair.
I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
