Hey /fit/, are there any alternatives to squats?
When I started lifting a few weeks ago, I always noticed that my lifts were very asymmetrical. I can bench 1 pl8 but I can also only squat the same amount. I got this pain in my left knee. I've always had this little bump there so I decided to get an x-ray done. It turns out that I have an osteochondroma, and the tendons near it basically snap over it when I extend my knee. The doctor heavily recommended going easy on it so I don't think I can squat like everyone else. Is there anything I can do in place of it to build up legs/core?

The Xray tech should of put a sponge under your ankle so that you can see through the joint space/

do deadlift variants with more knee flexion than conventional in addition to your conventional (sumo, trap bar)
do direct quad accessory work if your knees can handle that range of motion (leg press, hip belt squat)
