Do I need to eat right after a workout or is that a meme?

I usually eat 4 hours after my workout but some chad told me I will never get strong that way and will loose all my gains.

>>pic related, do I eat a raw egg right after my last set?
>>
just do some experiment...
like, eat something right after your workout and see how your organism reacts,
if your felling better than usual, then its better for you to do that more often
>>
You should be fine. There's evidence for and against protein consumption 1 hour after workout leading to higher gains, but most research says as long as you eat the proper amount of protein you'll still get ripped.

If you do a protein shake just take it to the gym for your after workout protein. Or suck your buddies dick I don't care

Eat an hour prior to the gym. Have a snack in your bag if your workout takes longer than an hour. Shake immediately following training. Eat a full meal within the next 2 hours.
This is the best case scenario.

There is some truth to it.
Post-workout nutrition is the most important.
But you don't have to hit some arbitrary 30 minute window or so, that's bullshit. So "shake immediately after your workout" isn't necessary.
4 hours is stretching it, you should be aiming to eat within 2 hours of your workout.

My personal experience (lifting for some 3-4 years all in all)

If bulking, eat at least a bowl of rice 30-60 minutes before workout, and at least 0.5g of whey protein immediately after the last set, also then in the hour after the last set at least another bowl of rice

If cutting, train fasted, just drink the whey afterwards, then eat some medium amount of carbs with more fat and protein

Oh yeah the point is that the whey immediately after makes a hyuge difference. It's like my delts vs your delts

0.5g per kg bw that is
