just recently I threw away all my plastic and replaced with glass. I'm a cheap ass too so it was a tough choice but once you start doing research you will get exposed to all of the negative effects of plastic and gmo food. Wife and I are going full organic as well. Tbh I don't trust organic stuff to be organic but at least I have a bit of hope as opposed to the cheap meat and milk that I usually buy that is pumped with antibiotics. I am literally producing pesticides inside my gut from years of eating gmo food.

Would glass be a potential plastic replacement?

I mean, its cheaper to produce, and people are already keyed into thinking about glass recycling. It's also easier to recycle glass.

Glass is already better at storing foods as it keep them fresh longer, not to mention certain foods like sourkrat, pickled cucumber etc requires glass containers since plastic leak shit over time and mess with taste and consistency
it was standard in the 80s, at least where i live you would find oats, mayo, milk... now only 4-5 out of 300 products are stored in glass
they weight more and are prone to break, whereas plastic is light, easier to move and dirt cheap
