Stop doing brosplits
Brosplits allow for maximum recovery time for a specific muscle group. Rip is retarded.

What's a brosplit?
And why are they bad?
New /fit/izen here, and am a moron

What is a definition of a bro split
>>42091519
Is training two muscle groups a day considered a brosplit, or is a bro split doing only one group a day? Here's what I break my workouts into:
Chest/tris
Back/bis
Legs/shoulders
>>42091540
working one muscle group once a day once a week so,
chest
back
shoulders
arms
legs
other routines allow u to hit the muscle group more than once a week so more gains

yeah,,, that works well until you get 35 - 40 in age... especially if you have a (ahem) job. natty dudes 40+ have to do bro split.
>over 40, semi-natty.

Also curious about this. When I lifted in high school (ten years ago) I would choose two muscle groups a day like he listed and cycle them every three days.
Side note: I stopped lifting for a long time and got fat, trying to get back into it now

That's why I only work out once per year. Maximum recovery, bro.
but how bad is a bro split really? I find a bro split allows you to recover while taking minimal rest days. If I go really hard on a chest day it can still be sore three days later, and if I'm cycling through these days with minimal rest days, I feel as if I'm working out each body part enough. Should I consider a push/pull/legs? I really never find I have enough juice in me to do over head presses, bench presses and other compound push movements to the best of my ability if I do them all during one workout, plus the time of the workout ends up being much much higher.
I do make sure to do all of my compound lifts, heavy diddlys, heavy bench, heavy ohp heavy squats through every cycle.
TL;DR: is higher volume in a slightly lower frequency really that bad when it allows you to rest the worked body parts while taking minimal rest days?
>>42091519
it doesnt realy matter how you divide it if you get your volume for the week

Stop doing SS
>Huge quads are only aesthetic to <10% of the population.
>SS is much more likely to lead to injury than any bodybuilding program
If you aren't a powerlifter, why would you expend such a large share of your available time and energy squatting. You would actually be better served on a brosplit
>>42091981
this is the correct answer, bros plit, SL, PPL, PHUL, GREYSKULL, 531, BBB
all this shit is just for your comfort and needs, it doesnt realy matter, if you put in the effort you will see gains, just make sure you get all your volume per the week
you need about 90 reps per week for big muscle groups and about 50 for small ones.
you can either do all 90 sets for chest in one day, like a bro
or divide them for 3 days, like a rip
it doesnt matter, if you put int he work, and do high volume (per week) you will get the gainz
if you jump programs every week trying to work out less, you wont
>>42091988
this is true, focus on upper body if you want to be aesthetic, be honest with yourself about your goals, its very easy to justify workoing out to be strong because its less shallow. but desu most of us workout to be big
>>42091608
The general scientific consenseus is that ppl or 2xweek splits are best for hypertrophy
>>42091954
Whatever gets you to the gym brah.
>Brosplit, not optimal, still get gains
>Sit on couch, far from optimal, gets fat
You choose
>>42091981
Not true, the more often you make your muscle have to recover (the higher frequency), the more times that muscle has the opportunity to increase in size
