Help /fit/ I'm losing my OHP numbers.

My OHP simply will not fucking go up. In fact it's been going down for weeks now.

All of my other compound lifts have been going up gradually. But my OHP has gone down from 60kgx5 (strict)
to not being able to PUSH PRESS 50kgx3

So essentially, in the last month, I've lost 10kg of OHP strength and that's with a little bit of form cheating!

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON. I think all my regime, sleep and diet is good, my other lifts are getting better, and I look way better than I did 6 months ago.
>>
Help me I'm fucking wasting away for some reason
>>
eat more
>>
Take a break from your bench or stop benching more than you can handle. It's affecting it

It helped me to concerntrate on technique a little more. Went from 60kgx5 to 82.5kgx5 in 3 months by learning proper technique.

Thanks this seems like a good bet

>>42081261
Will do but its confusing why my other lifts are going up

>>42081274
hmmmm I have several days between bench and OHP in my routine.
>>
>>42081397

During your OHP, is it really hard on your forearms?
>>
>>42081415
No, it's not even painful as such. It simply feels like I don't have the strength, particularly in my arms (bi and triceps)

It doesn't feel like I'm in pain, my forearms are fine. It's just that the power isn't there.

I had the same problem , meanwhile my benches were beast. I dropped 25 pounds off my bench, I switched to 3 x 8 instead of 3x5. 2 weeks later I can still bench my previous weight if I want to but I added 90 to my over head.
>>
>>42081480
Hmm maybe I will try that for a couple weeks see if it helps. Thanks.

Do you do heavy incline barbell press OP?

I switched over from DB to BB and my flat bench as well as my OHP have shot up.

Within 2 months, was flat benching 275 for 5 now can do 305 for 4, and OHP was 190 for 4 to 205 for 5 now and I am eating at a calorie deficit.

I also recommend trying to DB military press as a substitute for your OHP for a week or 2.
>>
How do people get to a 1plate ohp without learning how to break plateaus?

How long have you been lifting, and what were you lifting 6 months ago?
>>
>>42081035
Rotator Cuff exercises.

/thread
>>
>>42081035
My OHP progresses better doing 3x3
>>
>>42081810
lifting 1 year but noob shit for like 3.

6 months ago I could probably only OHP like 35kg.
But 6 months ago isn't what I care about, it's now I care about, I lost my 1plate OHP for seemingly no reason.

>>42081797
Nope, I do Arnold Press for upper pectorals. Not done incline BB for a long time. Nice stats btw

>>42081820
I'll look this shit up, I do have one injured rotator cuff from when I was a smith machine using retard.

It's just using all the muscles attached to your shoulder joint, which I'm sure you already do with your shoulder routine and chest/tri routine.

>>42081857
If you don't try the heavy BB incline, and want your OHP to shoot up, try doing it twice a week. I don't know your routine, but say chest/tris/shoulders are done somewhere between Monday-Wednesday, on your Saturday I would do another OHP workout, or at least DB OHP. Hitting specific muscle groups more often, with adequate rest, even on a calorie deficit has given me better results maybe it will help you.

>>42081903
Sounds good mate thanks for that. Hopefully I can get some incline bench in the mix at my shitty gym.

Good luck, and remember shoulders are typically the hardest muscle group to see gains and progress so keep at it and try new things when stagnancy occurs.
>>
>>42081857
When you do OHP you're activating a push motion for the lock. If you strengthen those tiny muscles around your rotator cuff you get that extra push and reduce risk of injury.
