Lifting weights is beneficial for joints and form is the biggest determinant of damage.
Greater strength would definitely increase your endurance due to the same weight feeling lighter.
Strength definitely increases muscle mass and thus size.
You do not have to eat +1000 kcal a day to gain muscle, its just optimal for professionals

You seem to be confused over terminology. Strength when compared to hypertrophy is in reference to a rep range used. Studies show that strength training does not build endurance.
