Squat wider with feet pointed more outside (so you get more external rotation for hips) and squat without getting butt wink (squat higher) but try to get below parallel. If your knees cave in it means you are lifting too heavy weight for you

Improper form leads to using your knees over your quads.
It can also lead to overusing hip flexors.
When I had form problems at 80kg (also I failed it twice), i deloaded 10kg and worked my way back up. My form has been INFINITELY better since I did it. My knees feel better, my lower back feels better, my hip flexors feel better, and i'm better at not relying on my dominant leg too much (the right one).
