How bad is fish for you? Is mercury poisoning just a meme thought up by those people who think quartz can cure cancer, or is it a legitimate concern? I know with deep water fish it is, but what about trout, salmon, and sole? Also, what's your favorite /fit/ meal? I like grilled trout with sweet potato and asparagus.

>I know with deep water fish it is
you don't know anything if you think it's related to the depth of the water and not the position in the food chain

By deep water I mean shark, swordfish, tuna, and some species of tile fish.

The more fish a fish eats the more Mercury. Eat bait fish.
Yes. Mercury, in the form you receive from fish, bioaccumulates. In your body it gets sequestered but never really removed (or ineffectively removed) so overtime it accumulates until you reach the threshold for mercury poisoning.
That said, I seriously doubt you'll be eating that much fucking fish but who knows how much is going to be in our fish in 20 years time.

CH3Hg moves through the aquatic ecosystem really fast and binds well to fish protein

You're probably fine. If you're worried about mercury, just stick to chicken and only eat fish once or twice a week.
Definitely avoid eating multiple cans of tuna a day.
not OP, but would one can of tuna a day be too much?

CH3Hg has high affinity for fish protein. Oil should be better
