Newfag here trying to get /fit/.
I usually drink soda once a day or every other day and I'm wondering how detrimental this is to getting fitter.
I know it's normally bad for you because of all the sugar and fizz, but is it worse than just that?
Unnecessary carbs and sugar and calories
Carbonation is bad for your teeth
The color stains your teeth
But if you're legitimately only drinking 1 can then that's probably not the thing holding you back

A couple of cans a week won't hurt. Just no more than that.

I'll try to ween myself off with the homemade lemonade my cook makes.
I assume she doesn't add as much sugar as these artificial drinks.
Thanks for the help.
What's so bad about drinking diet soda? I'm on a cut and it seems like the perfect sweet.

This. When it becomes your go to drink instead of water when you're thirsty. Then you have a problem.

High fructose corn syrup chews your DNA away.
One can a day is the equivalent of 5 years of aging on your telomeres.
Drink water.

Damn so that woman who lived to be 120 and drank coke everyday must have not even been human by the last few years of her life.

>A couple of cans a week
it has almost never occurred to me to reach for a soda when there is seltzer right next to it

Artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohol content is why they can advertise "no sugar". Its just as bad as regular soda if not worse

where are the proofs

How is it worse if cutting is mainly calories in - calories out? And don't just throw around words like "artificial" and act like that means anything.

Take 10 teaspoons of sugar and eat it straight up with a spoon.
That's how much sugar is in a single can of coke.
