You actually can if you're

>in your first few months lifting
>on a cycle of steroids

>You can add mass to your frame while consuming an inadequete amount of required calories to fuel the process which adds mass
>>
>>41958546
First 3 months of lifting are actually god tier gains, you will make gains even if you dont eat properly
>>
>>41958675
You better be trolling, nigger
>>
>>41958546

This is a false reduction and you clearly don't know about hypertrophy. And no, it doesn't break the laws of physics.
>>
>>41958697
*deduction. also it's actually induction, as the inference isn't axiom-based.

anyways: it is physically impossible to gain mass while eating at a deficit.
I shouldn't have to tell you why.
>>
>>41958719
>anyways: it is physically impossible to gain mass while eating at a deficit.

I literally did exactly this. I have lost 5 kg, and gained muscle mass, over my first 3 months lifting

the body is a dynamic system, not a binary switch.
>>
>>41958757
okay buddy.
>>
>>41958790
He's trans metabolic gains fluid protein non conforming
>>
>>41958719

you aren't gaining mass, you're losing fat and gaining a smaller amount of muscle mass, the energy from stored fat is used with the amino acids from proteins to create muscle
obviously without the extra IGF activity and the extra cortisol not to the same extent as a bulk, but to say that you can't build muscle on a cut is retarded
>>
>>41958719

>*deduction

No. I said reduction because I meant it. And because you shit stuff like:
>anyways: it is physically impossible
>>
>>41958829

and with the extra cortisol I meant to say
>>
>cutting
>squat is getting stronger
>deadlift is getting weaker
>>
>>41958822
kek
>>
>>41958845
Leverage
>>
>>41958381
Even if newbies can do both, they're most likely missing out on gains by not bulking.
>>
>>41958845
Low or high bar?

>he looks like shit but is a self-proclaimed "expert" on topics like this

prove me wrong op
>>
>>41958686
>Never lifted day in my life
>Had no biceps
>Been lifting for 3 months while eating -500kcal
>Biceps when I flex

In summary, I gained muscles while cutting.

>b-but I'm beginner and I did it

Yeah, this doesn't really apply to beginners. A beginner can literally fucking anything and make progress initially.

As a general rule it is incredibly difficult to gain muscle while cutting, and if you do it will most likely be a negligible amount. You may even lose muscle. Nobody really fucking knows because the fitness industry is full of shills and bullshit.
>>
>>41958373
Newbie gains are a thing

LOL

>>
>>41958719
Oh and also, you are so stupid its sad, so im going to give you a hint

>burning fat doesnt generate energy
>>
>>41959065
No it's not. This is a bottleneck thing. Dumb faggots think you are "making gains" fast when you are a total newb but your strength actually doesn't come from the gains in muscles but from your nervous system. You were "strong" before you started lifting but you were limited by your nervous system which was never stressed enough to let your body do the work.
>>
>>41958373
you technically can, even outside of >>41958381
these circumstances

but it's really fucking unlikely that you will

i'd rather just cut hard and eliminate any possibility of muscle gain, but be done with my cut in half time time
>>
>>41959094
I agree about that burning fat doesn't generate energy. I don't think we are disagreeing with each other.
>>
I've been lifting /cutting since october. Can someone explain where these muscles are coming from? My progress is very slow but im progressing.
>>
>>41958546
Recomposition. You can lose 10lbs of fat and gain 1lb of muscle. Overall you've lost 10 lbs but have actually gained muscle. You think fat guys have to bulk to gain muscle?
>>
Look, lets so you TDEE is 2000 calories, including exercise

You eat 1500 calories

So your body then released 500 calories from fat

1500+500=2000

But of course, part of that 2000 figure is the requirement to rebuild muscle, so muscle grows.

Now the more fat you are, the more you can release energy so the more muscle you can build. As you lean out, it becomes more and more difficult until it becomes impossible.

This is pretty simple really.
>>
>>41958686
There is a scientific explanation behind this you mong, i swear to god this board went to shit the moment summer started
>>
>>41959395
1. how new are you to never have seen the moot screencap re. summers?

2. feel free to present your pseudo-scientific ramblings
>>
>>41958546
Alright, let's put something into perspective
1. Your body needs energy to stay alive
2. Fat can be metabolized into energy
3. Muscle needs protein to be build
4. Muscle protein synthesis dictates whether or not muscle can be built from protein or not

So putting it all together: If you want to build muscle while losing fat you have to have enough energy available in your body fat stores to support your body on top of it your muscle protein synthesis needs to be elevated enough to allow new muscle to be build instead of converting the protein into glucose through gluconeogenesis but muscle protein synthesis is so low while in a caloric deficit that most people are barely able to hold on to the muscle they've build, but there are 2 ways to significantly increase MPS.
1. A stimulus for your muscle that is so foreign that it has no other choice but to adapt, i.e. moving from completely sedentary to lifting 3 multiple times a week.
2. Steroids
>>
>>41958373

yes
>>
If your body has enough macros&micros to build muscle it will grow them as it is smarter from a biological standpoint to grow the muscle and expend energy rather then keep healing the muscle extensively and expend energy.
>>
>>41958546
can confirm you can add mass while losing weight as a new lifter

CNS? Do you deadlift the same day or day after? There's like a hundred reasons why this would happen.
>>
>>41958546
It's almost as if your body had some kind of energy source inside of it
>>
>>41959337
No. While recomping you stay at the same weight so if you lose 10 lbs of fat you gain 10 lbs of muscle
>>
>>41958757
you didn'tgain mass because you lost 5kg
>>
>>41958829
Don't you dare to bring logic to /fit/. Leave now.
>>
>>41959383
So if you eat 200g of protein and nothing else your body will release ~2000kcals of stored fat

Why is bodybuilding and nutrition full of such retards?
