I've been noticing lately I've looked fatter than usual with large fluctuations in weight but I look like I've packed in a bunch of abdominal fat in the course of a few months even though I've added hours of cardio per week. About the same time, my diet went south and I've been eating 2-3x more sodium a day (averaging 5-7g daily). How much sodium should I be having? I'm going to cut down to 2.5g a day and see if this helps. Any tips?

Sodium can add water weight but normally the weight gain is because food with lots of salt is often fill with calories or paired with something else that is. Aim for less than 2g a day if you can.

A lot of government health boards would say between 1500-2500mg, my ceiling is 4000mg. If you have no existing heart conditions/blood pressure problems, 4000 is fine assuming you regularly exercise.
