What does /fit/ wear?
I love wearing all sorts of elegant stuff such as chinos. It's a pain in the ass to find a pair for my legs, though. (pic not mine)
>>
I just wear well fitting t shirts or sweaters.
Black jeans.
Classic Dr Marten Safety boots (they look good and they add an inch to my height too which is nice)

i got a suit from there before I had to give a presentation my senior year of college and now 99% of the shit I own is from there

kinda pricy but worth it imo

And what type of fit do you wear?
>>
>>41928207
those are red wing iron ranger boots

pretty entry level my dude
>>
H+M regular fit
River Island Muscle-fit
Marks and Spencer regular fit.

Anything else I wear is generally just something from another store that luck would have it fit me very well. Its kind of a crap-shoot buying non-tailored clothes and its more trial and error than anything I find.

Go to a tailor and get your shirts "darted" for ~$15. Then thank me for dragging you out of the depths of misery that is your life.
>>
>>41928338
get nicer clothes, then take them to a tailor

its not expensive for just minor alterations like taking in the waist. i wouldn't waste money on doing to a wal mart shirt tho

Anyone got good brands for short sleeve shirts? I find myself stuck Between L and XL. With L, it fits my stomach well but its extremely tight on my chest, arms, and back. XL looks a dam parachute on me
>>
>>41928314
You mean 514?

Also best chinos I found were from Saks 5th av, good shirts are always a whole search quest, but I found that many Kohl's brands can fit well enough

nope 541 are pretty new and they're designed for 'athletes'. 541 are big in the thighs and ass but taper down a bit so they don't look like dad jeans but also don't look like emo jeans

the best shirts used to be American Apparel 50/50 shirt but American Apparel got bough out and I'm not sure what's going to happen to them. They fit sorta tight on the arms but are also very flexible

I tend to have a problem finding shirts in regular fit because i'm 5ft 9 with broad shoulders and a thick ribcage
So i generally have to go with large stuff and then it sort of hangs around my waist
With work shirts I have to go a size up to fit round my triceps and back
>>
my go to clothes nowadays as a reasonably fit guy are
>henleys (American apparel used to make ones that fit me well, long enough yet slim)
>slim t-shirts from any brand that happens to fit and isn't too expensive, no point in spending too much cash on tees
>jeans are starting to get tricky, for now the Levi's 501 CT fits me but they are pretty tight around the thigh, can't ride a bike at all in them anymore
>chinos are easier to find than jeans
>button down shirts are basically XL or even XXL that I get tailored

>a nicely fitting biker leather jacket would be great but it'll cost a fuckload

Material of shirts makes a huge difference imo. Dress shirts made of lightweight wool or broadcloth cotton instead of heavier weaves.
If you're in a situation that demands a blazer or coat, wear one that is half lined or sans lining.
Most blazers have heavier woven lining that doesn't let them breathe.
I have to do business in the Caribbean every once and a while and I sweat my ass off all the time until my tailor talked me through it.
>>
>>41933874
I hate brogues, especially wings, but pretty good otherwise my dude.
>>
>>41933932

Yeah, it's to the point here that even for business it's rare to see jackets. The Polo is king down here, lightweight button ups as well. I have two suits that I rarely wear, solely because of the climate. It's not so bad once the sun goes down, but dude June/July/August is fucking brutal.

heres a tip for ya dinguses

boots: red wings or thorogoods. they look good and they'll add about an inch to your height if you're a manlet

jeans: good fit

shirt: good fit, shows off your musculature

wow. thats it. very hard.

>wearing black

Here are the following occasions to wear black:

At a funeral
Tuxedo event
Shooting up a school
Working at a poor person job

Notice how only one of those options is a daily occurrence and should not something you should strive to do.

Yes, I read and understood your post, spaz.

While I'm here, let's examine another one of your points:

>4. wear a goddamn watch

Are you seriously advising someone to wear a wrist fedora in 2017? The year when everyone and their grandmum has a cellphone on them at all times?

Let me guess if you were to add another point it would be:

6. wear a trench coat

hahahaha

Pic related, a proper gentleman wearing a black and a wrist fedora to match his head fedora

How do I into tailoring...

You just walk up to sum mall kiosk and say "I need these 3 shirts fitted"? I assume you should buy a size up before doing this?
>>
>>41938199
>some mall kiosk

not how it works

You go to a place that actually does tailoring, then they ask what fits you like, then they measure you

if they're good they'll have you in with an in-progress piece, do a second fitting, make any necessary alterations, then call you back when they're fully done.

t. bought a made to measure suit from savile row

skinnyjeans in 2017. When will they learn?

Best so far. Wristbands are for fags.
>>
>>41938199
You can order made to measure stuff on line or in person. Brooks brothers does it, but for the price range I would go with Mercer and Sons instead (better quality + dat collar). You definitely want to have someone such as a tailor take your measurements instead of doing it yourself if you are going this route.

Alternatively you can buy a shirt and then take it to the tailor. The most important thing is make sure the shoulders fit in your shirt, followed by the collar. The more alterations you want, the more it will cost. So try to the right sleeve length too.

I just had two shirts tailored. Had them brought in in the torso, sleeves, and had the sleeves shortened. Cost $30 per shirt. Would have been much better if I had sleeves that fit to begin with, but whatever. I use old Asian ladies tailor shop near my house.

>>41938238
Yes, I posted in agreement earlier. I can see them being too tight for some people's liking, but I wouldn't say they are too tight as a rule.
>>
>>41935859
I'd wear dayton service boots but I don't feel ready to drop 500€ on boots yet, what's wrong with the pants though? Maybe the stacking is putting you of but those are actually semi-slim, not skinny jeans
