I've keto and IF, both on top of standard calorie counting obviously... and I actually have no fucking idea. There are articles and videos of some seemingly intelligent people that have done their research saying that CICO is more complicated than "it's thermodynamics/first law". But it's funny, because /fit/ on one hand will say "CICO" and then they'll point you to information where when you actually read or listen to it, it says all kinds of shit about how CICO is actually wrong. Main example being that Dr. Jason Fung guy.

I don't know what to think. I will say I've gotten skinny and I'm maintaining now and it does seem like I can eat slightly more calories without gaining weight when I do intermittent fasting, at least 16:8. But I have zero proof.

My cousin had cystic acne and when he stopped consuming dairy it cleared up. He had been for derma peel sessions etc which hadn't helped. He has always been allergic to egg and cream too so it's not surprising in his case. Just try cutting it either completely out or dramatically reducing the amount you eat and see if it helps. It's really not the same for everyone but worth a try.

Holy shit I just learned something very important.

I've read that when doing keto often people feel horrible so you should eat chicken broth (bouillon cubes) which has a lot of salt and helps.

Anyway I learned that this isn't limited to keto! Increasing your salt on a cut helps you feel better and makes any cravings less of a problem.

6'0 tall, 250 lbs, 1(7)8, been lifting half assed for a year in august, lost 30 lbs, and I'm debating what I should do next. Should I try to build muscle and stay at a slight calorie deficit? Or should I do cardio with mild weight training and a big calorie deficit? I saw Jason Fung's video, and he kinda implies that it's impossible to lose weight without fasting, when in real life the lines are more fuzzy in my experience. I have successfully lost 10 kilos a few years ago, and kept my weight down ever since, by drinking 2 liters of orange or peach juice and eating two sandwiches a day plus running three 5Ks a week. In practice, this meant that I drank 200+ grams of sugar spread throughout the day, and ate mostly carbs, which both should have prevented me from burning fat. I know this was retarded, and now that I'm losing the additional weight, my diet is sane and pretty successful so far. The same goes for that "What I've learned" guy's videos. He takes a true statement, that there is more to weight loss than calories, and takes it to the extreme and declares CICO does not work at all, misleading tens of thousands of fatties worldwide.
In practice, I don't think you can go wrong with the holy trinity of eating proper foods, watching your calories, and exercising, and some methods may just improve your results by like 20% max.

Not really pain, I just couldn't sleep the first night.

When I began eating again I had some broth, then I ate really tiny meals of veggies and increased quantity slowly. Kinda gotta reboot the system.

Great experience though. I had some very tired moments, but, it was really a learning experience that taught me about hunger. By day 3 I wasn't hungry anymore. I could have kept going past 6.

OP, are you doing this outside or on a treadmill? A lot of the time if you're struggling it means you're going too fast and you need to slow your pace down. I have been doing C25K on the treadmill with aims to move it outside in mid August. At first I did struggle on week 1 but I brought the pace down and managed to get through it. I've now completed week 7 with its 25minute runs. I might repeat the week again because I don't feel comfortable enough with it yet.

I used to always do the running part on a setting of 8 (I think its km/h which is fucking slow really but still faster than the guy sat at home) and I would repeatedly get stuck between week 3 and 4. I've brought it down to level 7.5 and that allowed me to progress. I would like to work on speed but I need to work on endurance first.

Might as well not do fucking anything since doing it once a week is fucking nothing. That's like, skipping your lunch once during your entire week.

Try counting your calories though and see how much you're consuming a day. Especially your ham/cheese grilled sandwich - it contains a lot of calories for the mass you're consuming. Other than that it sounds okay, but it really boils down to your caloric intake.

For cooling down, just don't buy a fucking ten pack of popsicles then. I have the same problem too, usually with some kind of gummy things - I always tell myself that I'll going to save some for later but I never fucking do and end up eating everything. That's why I never buy them anymore of if I do, I'm just getting the smallest possible pack.

Grapes are, from what I could gather, somewhere around the 65kcal/100g range. So half a kg would be like 325, but let's say 350kcal to round it up. 100g of skittles are around 400kcal for 100g from what I could gather.

You have to figure what works for you. We can't literally spoonfeed you your meals.

If you count your calories and eat at a large enough deficit for a couple months then you WILL figure out what works for you while being satiating and fitting your calories.

Diet soda is probably not going to kill you. You might want to keep it for extreme cases though - like if you get an abnormal craving for sweet things you can't satiate no matter what. It's probably not the healthiest alternative but if you don't binge drink it every single day it's not going to kill you. Chances are you are doing things much more harmful to your body.
Is drinking water for breakfast weird for you? If so, just drink tea. Try not to sweeten it too much or use some artificial sweetener. I personally hate unsweetened tea so I'd rather drink water.
Go swimming three times a week from the get go. Swimming is not as hard on you as you think (when I was a super fat fuck at 150kg I went swimming for an hour or two every single day, it's doable if you have the time) and you need a routine you can keep to. You'll just make more excuses in the future if you try and gradually step it up. Instead just do it three times a week, don't overexert yourself and increase the intensity once a week or something.
As for lunch, look into something like rice or grain with some low calorie meat, like chicken or tuna. Some grains go down as low as around 75kcal/100g when cooked and combined with some low calorie meat you can easily eat a portion of 300-400g with it having only ~400kcal. I'd guesstimate your current lunch to at least 600 if not more, with significally less mass to fill your belly.

Basically tasteless but works quite well.
For the topping, just give yourself a calorie you mustn't go over, and work within it.
Also make a small pizza, and stuff yourself with carrots, a homemade dressing (some olive oil, balsamic vinegar/lemon juice and mustard) to fill up, so you'll be able to have some cheese thickness.
A ball of mozzarella is only like 200kcal and could cover generously a small pizza.
Then add some lean beef or pork, I dunno, you have your 1000kcal pizza , do whatever you want with it.
Oh and put onions on it, it's easy and gives quite a lot of taste.

You can make it à la crème, but even if you don't want to do it then a pretty easy way to make spinach tasty is to add some pepper, salt and nutmeg. Adding nutmeg to vegetables is more or less my culinary secret, but I'm willing to share it with my /fit/bros.

I still prefer it à la crème personally, considering the calorie difference compared to regular spinach isn't super radical.
