If you go and watch his lectures that he held in Harvard back in the 90's you can see that what he is talking about there (and what he is still talking about) is 100% linked to todays SJW libtard madness.

He has been wondering how societies end up like Communist Russia and Nazi Germany and how people can do such evil towards each other, and he has been spending his whole life on it.

The policies and the things that made hundreds of millions of people die in Communist Russia is now happening at an alarming rate in the Western world.

Feminism, social justice warrior ism, and so on are offshoots from communist thought and the same process that lead up to the disaster of communism/nazism are now happening in the Western world. So Peterson has been anti SJW before that was even a thing.

Which is funny, because his primary influence (Jung) explained exactly how people got swept up in the Odinist fervor (Jung's words, not mine) that Hitler roused, it happened to him and he wrote about it. Even in the edited forms of his writing from the periods, which dial back his admiration for fascism, it still comes through that he though their classical revival was a healthier way of living than Communism and the other available options, especially psychologically. However, later in life, at least publically, he said this was the danger, they sublimated the psyche too well, and that it had no place in modernity. Blatant cop out in my opinion.

I don't understand exactly what you mean. From what i understand Jung was tempted by Nazism and felt the pull of it but he was "strong" enough to resist it so he didn't get consumed by it. Admitting that one almost got caught up in this thing, or even that it had some positive elements don't make him dishonest or bad or whatever. It means that he didn't fully understand it at first and he had to see it play out to the fullest before he could draw conclusions. Which makes him not a cop out. Considering moving out of my friends place for the second time to go back to my mums. Friend increased rent recently and I can't afford to live on $150 a fortnight (not including utilities and whatnot).
Downside is the internet at my mums is garbage but I should be able to land stable employment and fix my life instead of running away elsewhere.

He was popular even before that. People that watched his psychology videos go like "holy fuck this is the most amazing thing i heard" and that is why they want to tell other people about him.
