Wait a few weeks, eat a bit less and excercise more if you don't start losing. Eat fibre.
>>
>>41878552
I was pretty autistic about counting calories during my weight loss, and had plateaus. Then all the sudden after two weeks of doing everything right, the weight would just fall off. I'd say if you don't lose anything for another 2 weeks, then start to worry.

If you want to try something to jump start things, do some OMAD. Or even a 48 hour fast.
>>
Has anyone told you you have become to obsessive with caloric intake?
I mean I talk about it a bit, and add everything I eat into my tracker. But it is necessary for me to lose weight. Life style change requires focus, however as the third month ends, I might be hyper focusing too much...

Hello fellow fats.

About to order a 10" garlic bread, tray of kebab meat, chicken strippers and a 1/2 pound chicken burger. Should I do it? down to 170 from 200 since christmas. Wanting to get to ottermode, thinking that might be around 150-155. 6'1.
>>
>>41878574
My fat family members don't get why I count calories, meanwhile my family members who do count calories lose quickly and keep it off, while those who don't aren't losing a thing. I lost 1-2 kg a week until I lost 23 kg just counting calories. When you count calories you can eat cheat meals more as well, as long as you don't go over your weekly cals. Keep at it friend.
>>
>>41878557
Are you going over your calories for the day?
If not are you gaining enjoyment from it? More enjoyment then you would eating something else with 200 calories?
Nothing wrong with a bit to drink to relax after a hards day work as long as it is within your budget.

Seriously, if you're not on keto get your ass some fiber cereal and make that a staple of your breakfast, ~150 calories covers your entire daily need and you'd be surprised how little fiber there is in a lot of stuff compounded by your reduced consumption from dieting.
>>
>>41878900
Eyeballing or measuring with a scale? If you're just eyeballing stuff you'd be surprised how many calories can be in so little food with some stuff. If you're actually measuring stuff with scales and measuring cups then it might be time to see a doctor if you can't lose while doing that after 3 months unless there's some particular outlier in your diet you're overlooking (alcohol?).

okay I have the most recent blood tests (end of january) I did, I need to go through the archives to find the older ones, but basically here's how I fared on one month IF+Keto.

The documents are in french, but most of those are medical terms and a quick google translate can help you find out what they are.

Most notable points if you want a quick read through are generally in the middle ground of reference points (calculated with age and sex) with some very relevant exceptions considering fasting and keto :

>Urea under 0.17g/l
basically the result of a clear pee, very little toxins in the blood stream coming from urea (the liquid in the process of eliminating toxins from the body).
> Protein C reactive : 4.6 mg/l very high but not unhealthy, result of eating enough protein which can be considered improbable while fasting and doing keto (most people indulge too much in fat but I kept a clean protein/fat ratio which led to little toxicity in blood stream and high protein).
>creatinine : 7.5 mg/l
a quick rundown on creatinine :
"Creatinine is a chemical waste product in the blood that passes through the kidneys to be filtered and eliminated in urine. The chemical waste is a by-product of normal muscle function." (source : https://www.davita.com/kidney-disease/overview/symptoms-and-diagnosis/what-is-creatinine?/e/4726) Safe to say there is normal to optimal muscle function.
So technically no poor muscle mass, no indication of low lean mass or potential to be losing muscle mass from fasting/keto.
>potassium (a given to look out for when fasting/keto) : 4.6mgl. High levels considering highest reference point is 5. So no deprivation of potassium.
>sodium : 138 mmol/l (lowest ref point is 136), so very low sodium intake, which is really good.

now for the keto aspects in particular, let's talk cholesterols :
> LDL : 0.92g/l, according to medical sources : "Less than 100mg/dL = Optimal"

> HDL : 0.54g/l (>45 which is ref point of my stats). What does a slightly high HDL mean really? well HDL is what people call the "GOOD" cholesterol.
what does it do ?
according to WebMd (can't be fucked getting the scientific articles, but this is common knowledge) :
>HDL cholesterol scavenges and removes LDL -- or "bad" -- cholesterol.
HDL reduces, reuses, and recycles LDL cholesterol by transporting it to the liver where it can be reprocessed.
So in short, I have low bad LDL and high good HDL. Doing keto, eating fats in reasonable amounts.

I'll post the rest of the results, but they are related to hematology and hormonology and are less relevant to topic, and have really optimal to average stats on hematology, with a given hormonology high result for T4 as I have hyperthyroidism. It was a constant before trying this new regimen, and I believe long run I will defeat it naturally by continuing doing things right diet wise.

Oh and I forgot about one of the most important stats on the whole panel :
>glycemia (fasted) : 0.94g/l which is considered normal levels. Interesting because I was prediabetic a year ago, and had been under a medication known to trigger diabetus in it's patients. But it seems I have reversed it over time. To give you a general idea, after that blood test I kept taking my blood sugar level regularly (to check I was still in ketosis, because I can't have access to ketosticks here) and I would get an average of 0.70g/l.

Sometimes weight loss can be hindered by a 'whoosh' effect, more commonly known as water weight. Essentially, your fat cells are storing water, rather than fat. One morning, if you're consistently eating at a deficit (remember to keep calculating your TDEE with new loss), you should wake up with a sudden massive weight loss.
>>

I just finished eating :

entree :
>tarama spread with blinis (3 small ones)
>2 crab meat sticks with a dip of cocktail sauce

main course :
>three lettuce assorted salad (no dressing/no seasoning), about a bowl
>one smoked salami slice
> one small cut of holland imported smoked gouda (shit was bomb, made me do my orgasm face I shit you not)

dessert :
>about a cup of ripe black cherries
>half a small cantaloupe

I am not counting calories very anally, just estimating as this is my only meal of the day (OMAD) and finishing it will open yet another 24hr fasting window before I eat again.
Should be around 800 at most.
pic related, try it !

I thought my boyfriend (who goes on /fit/) was a huge nerd for playing WoW, and when he had me play, I didn’t really like it, due to my lack of understanding. Now, after playing on my own, and leveling up some, I’m captivated with the game. The only reason I bring it up is because of it’s so called “health benefits”. I don’t constantly crave food while I’m playing.Even when I’m just walking from one place to another I need two hands so it’s hard to eat while playing. I feel good about myself and gain a little bit of self-esteem when I actually learn how to play the game, as silly as it sounds. I have been trying to lose weight after gaining 20 pounds in about a month and a half, and now in 2-3 months I’ve lost that 20 and about 5 extra pounds. I’m 180 at 5’6’’ and my goal weight is 140-150.

Who else here on /fat/ has their escape from reality that helps them with their diet?

> Protein C reactive : 4.6 mg/l very high but not unhealthy, result of eating enough protein which can be considered improbable while fasting and doing keto (most people indulge too much in fat but I kept a clean protein/fat ratio which led to little toxicity in blood stream and high protein).

I have toxic levels of this, doc says heart issues are coming on the road ahead and my hemocrat levels are through the roof/thick blood but I live in the mountains so its like running PED with my current cycle

How many of you check your blood sugar on the regular?

Any Germanbro here that can recommend a high-fibre cereal or muesli? I bought a fruit muesli for now, but it has 68g if carbs, 24 of which are sugar (and I hope the rest is mostly fibre) per 100g and that just is unnecessary amounts of sugar.

I am sorry to hear about your toxic levels of protein c, anon. Here's a study that amongst other things correlates high protein c activity levels with hyperlipidemia, fatty liver, obesity and diabetes. Whether one of this condition influences the protein c levels, or both in a continual drain, I know not enough, but from what I can tell, it means you have a chance of reversing the damage if you lose weight.

here's a few excerpts that might give you an idea on how you can have toxic amounts of protein C levels :
>"The underlying mechanism remains unknown. Agewall et al suggested an increase in hepatic synthesis of protein C due to increased hepatic insulin resistance."

source : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1774506/

Also I am saying all this assuming you are a recovering fatty, that is why I thought the correlation with diseases associeted with being overweight to obese was relevant.

what do you mean by "it's like running PED with my current cycle" as I am not familiar with that acronym or what you mean by the cycle ?

I know being fat is bad for your health, but I wonder how much damage has been done to my body. I went from 375lbs down to ~290 in two years, but lately I've been worried (read: paranoid) that I'm going to have a heart attack at an early age. I do cardio about 4x per week for 30-40 minutes and play tennis about twice per week for about an hour.

Given that I'm still fat as fuck, how fucked am I in the long-run? I'm 26.

>>
>>41880933
Yes, get it done for the purpose of knowing your body if anything. My best advice if the process is not widely accepted in your country is to always say you think you have too much testosterone rather than too little (it's much more accepted to check that way without the implication of you wanting to get test therapy or do steroids afterwards). Suggest to your doctor (and don't be scared to see a couple until you find one that's motivated only by business and will do it for the check) that you think you have one of the related conditions to too much test : best bet is hyperthyroidism. Google symptoms and just sprinkle them in the conversation, so the doc comes to the conclusion himself, don't mention it before him or else he'll know you're walking him into a trap. Say you would like to do some tests just to be sure, ask for blood test first with hormonology report, he will prescribe as it's common practice, then while he's writing the prescription push him further and say you also want your testosterone levels checked, just to be sure. He will probably be inclined by then to give you the test. It will just take adding another line on the prescription for the lab to know to check test as well as the other stuff you get in a regular blood test.
Hope this helps!
I'm going to go shower now, will be back in twenty if you want to keep chatting.

hey there germanbro, french here.
I did a little bit of searching, and so far the names that keep coming up are Haferkleie and Seitenbacher flakes, and some others from the brand Koelln. Not sure how much fiber you're looking for, though.
Also why not substitute it with breads like Volkornbrote that are high in fiber too?
I hope this helps.

S-stop it, we're supposed to be natural enemies.

Haferkleie is very unpleasant on its own, but the Seitenbacher Muesli seems good, it's practically 90% fibre so I'd need to eat only a tiny serving per day, which would make up for the high costs. The Koelln ones available in local stores are all sugar muesli unfortunately. I've never really liked bread, but a slice or two of a nice high-fiber bread with cheese on top should work too. Gotta check whether I order Seitenbacher or just go with the bread.

Thanks a lot for the footwork soldier, hope you're staying safe and sound during these times of crisis.

So I want to approach my doctor and ask for some sort of testosterone treatment, which is outside of my weight loss goal.
Thing is I've had bitchtits since I was in middle school, a very small dick, and hardly any body- and facial hair. During the general health checkup in middle school the performing doctor checked if I had developed teats, but I don't, after that no doctor ever paid mind to my let's say estrogen-shapen body.

Does anyone have experience with such a situation? How do I approach my doctor about this, should I just tell him the same way I did just now?

The wording is off on the Weekly Loss.
It seems like the formula calculates the difference between the mean weight from the last week, according to the starting weight output in the weekly loss section. This means you'll have a weekly loss of -20 lbs for example, which would technically mean you gained 20 pounds.

Depends on what you're doing. If you're on keto you count net carbs, which would be 21g - 10g = 11g with your net carbs not going over 20g if you're in your first 2 weeks (if you're past that point you can go up to 30-50g net carbs)

But you have to keep your total carbs under.. 50 during the first 2 weeks and under 75 for anything subsequent, iirc. I have to re-read the book.

Get some help from y'all? I'm close to goal but I've never maintained or bulked in my life and have been on the cut for almost 2 years now.

Not sure how to do my macros for maintaining or gaining. More carbs? Keep protein around 200g? No fucking idea. Any input would be amazing.

I went drinking with my mates today, and ate some snacks after I got home. I definitely didn't set myself back, since I'm probably still below my maintenance, plus I worked out today, but I kinda feel bad about it. Whatever, I'm gonna keep on losing weight for the rest of the week, so close to making it.

I have a desk job and haven't gone to the gym in a long time. I was doing SS for maybe 4 months, but I didn't see much come of it. I slowly grew dinosaur legs from the squats, my arms got ever-so-slightly larger, and I hit walls REALLY quickly.

Eating, especially carbs, just makes you crave more unless you satisfy yourself.
This is why intermittent fasting is so good, once you get past the idea of only eating once a day your body adapts and doesn't crave anything outside that window.

Are there any low carb popcorn out there? Doing psmf and that is the only carb that is killing me. Well, that and beans.

So I got a gym membership in Feb and was on and off for a couple of months. I still ate like shit so my weight stayed around 200lbs. I started going to the gym with my cousin for the last two months but didn't start eating clean until two weeks ago and I'm now at 198.1,well I was, I just checked right now and I'm up to 199.2 but I did have my first cheat meal yesterday if that makes a difference. I'm a 5'7 manlet and we go 3 times a week(I'm thinking of making it 5 days). What I want to know is why is my weight not going down? Is it cause I have low test? I don't seem to be losing weight at all and I am eating cleaner than I used to eat 2 years ago when I was 156lbs. Any tips? besides reading the sticky since I already have and probably will again.
Pic related are my testosterone levels, insurance doesn't want to approve it though and I'm a neet who can't afford it without it.
>>
>>41884365
Stop looking for excuses and put that energy to working harder. Gym 3 times a week, cardio on off days. Track EVERYFUCKINGTHING you eat, down to oils and butter.

You should be looking to eat between 1500-1600 cal per day to consistently lose 1lb/w

I went back for seconds at a banquet I went to yesterday. to be fair It was 90% chicken breast, and 10% potatoes.

Also I ate some like 3 small brownies. 1 piece of strawberry cake. I drank water tho, and its the only thing I ate yesterday.

Dropped .5 lb today, down to 176.3 lb 23.8% BF.

Yes I weigh myself everyday. Multiple times. On on of those weightwatchers digital body analysis scales. Then average it to get accurate numbers.

I also track my macros and calories. Still feels like cheating tho. I haven't had anything sweet for like over half a year, so it feels like I went on a crazy binge, even if I have a tiny piece of chocolate brownie.

question on the navy method: if i train my neck, should i just ignore it entirely?
using the same height, weight, and waist measurement the bf% it gives ranges pretty drastically.
starting neck (15'') gives a bf% of 17%
starting neck, flexed (15.5'') gives a bf% of 16%
current neck (16'') gives 15%
current neck, flexed (17.5'') gives 12%
i've only been training my neck for about a month, so it's only going to get more inaccurate as time goes on.

You're not losing weight. It's just water fluxuation or food. Download my fitness pal and start counting calories and macros. Should be under 100 carbs a day and keep protein around 200 grams. Then have a refeed day once every two weeks to keep your metabolism from slowing down too much. Cardio cardio. Cardio specifically HIIT cardio.
>>
If any fat peeps have questions I went from a 250 lb. Heavy drinker and drug user to a 180 lbs 10 percent body fat sober dude. Not posting pics cuz that's lame as fuck but I can answer pretty much anything related to weight loss. Took me two years.

>>
>>41878546
Ever since I gave into my cravings that one time, I've been on a sure plummet to fast food hell. It never goes above my maintenance calories, but I feel awful nonetheless. I'm working toward regaining my discipline starting tomorrow morning. I hear that keeping snacks on you all day will keep you from binging, but I'm having trouble finding good snacks that won't mess with my already-very-low 1500 calorie cut.

5'10 180lbs, should the initial goal be weight loss or to just focus on muscle growth? Also, is SS actually a meme or is "SS is a meme" just a /fit/ meme? Whichever works for you personally will be better although a long jog would probably be an easier habit to get into than sprinting and gasing yourself. I've personally found my effectiveness at running to be very dependent on how my breathing is. In through the nose out through the mouth and make sure you're getting enough when inhaling to fill your lungs. And I'm not really sure what you're last question is asking? A jog is just a slower run really.
