From what I've personally experienced, it doesn't give you confidence. For that, you just need exposure therapy, just talk to them more. However with getting in shape, I've noticed that I care less about the things that don't matter. Self conscious things like how I'm dressed, if I said something stupid, and if she thinks I'm a creep. Makes it so much easier to have a conversation go smoothly, and people seem to think I'm somewhat cool, even though I'm not even trying to be. When you talk to a girl, remember that it doesn't matter. None of this matters. In a hundred years from now, no one will remember this interaction. It won't affect your life in the long term. Even if things don't work out with the girl, that doesn't matter either, because you just got more experience, and you're still getting more in shape. There are tons of girls out there, and you get better at interacting with them each time.
