My results show my family relations on their own, my first cousins had a test done and it says hey this guy is your first cousin. My cousin saw my name and contacted me right away. We are actually first cousins on my moms side, and the 23andme tests were correct. The odd part was how similar our results were and she also has ever % literally the same. The way these tests work is that they take what code they have and they line it up against the million other codes they've stored and then deduct your makeup based on what matches where.
This results in an unavoidable amount of noise as genetic marker a1b1c3 is exclusively present in only two heritages, even if they're from different ends of the planet.

The Y chromosome has a bunch of palendromic repeats which stay relatively stable generation to generation, so you can see lineage through the paternal line. You only need a male relative from your dad's side (brother or uncle or whatever) to get that Y chromosome. Additionally your father, grandfathers and one grandmother have different mitochondria to you, so there are other lineages to look into there.

I don't think you know how multicelullar organism's DNA works, as virus are the only organisms that can integrate foreign DNA through plasmids. Brood from mammals is always strictly limited to the DNA of their parents, it cannot include foreign chops of DNA and thus, mixing becomes impossible.
