>muscle growth and strength are heavily correlated
>strength and muscle growth require different programs
Explain this

They dont. As a beginner its simple. You do some exerises to cover the body and add isolations for what the compounds dont do. You can also add more sets to get more volume.

As an intermediate you need to up the volume as you need more to stimulate growth.
>>
The programs aren't actually that different, anon.
>>
>>41826989
But why are they different at all?
>>
>>41826950
It's rather simple, your muscles become bigger if you train them for endurance after you have trained them for strength.

There are different muscle fibers for different jobs. Ideally you want to gain both the muscle fibers that allow fast burst strength and the ones that are for slow endurance strength to maximize the size of your muscle. Your body adds these fibers to your muscles if you progressively overload them, i.e. add more stress than they are able to handle comfortably. For the quick fibers you would add additional weight or resistance as often as you can, for the slow fibers you would add additional volume as much as you can.

Strength training goes for short full power sets (e.g. 3x5) with regular weight increase. The growth training on the other hand doesn't increase the weights much, but tries to go for a high number of sets and repetitions instead and tries to target the muscle in question in different ways. The stronger you are already, the more effective is the endurance growth training, so obviously you don't want to gain some strength first and not do a million sets with 10 kg dumbbells.

>so obviously you don't want to gain some strength first and not do a million sets with 10 kg dumbbells
I mean you DO want to gain some strength first

if neanderthals still existed they would be thicc and strong af and tear the shit out of us
no wonder we mixed with them, they're wiminz where probably thicc
>>
Thanks to the vitamins they take, bodybuilders just work slow twitch muscle fibers all the time so they don't have to try very hard or risk injuring themselves.
>>
>5s are for strength brah not hypertrophy brah
>if you do this program that has you do lots of 5s your legs will become too huge brah, don't do it brah
>>
>>41827299
>hey're wiminz where probably thicc
That's not how it worked, Homo sapiens literally handed them harems of females in exchange for them hunting megafauna since LITTLE BLACK BOIS couldn't into hunting.

Same reason there is an oversaturation of 5x5 or 5/3/1 variations, people like to market slightly modified programs as the Next Big Thing so that they have something to put their name to, whether they want money or efame or whatever.

The real secret is you don't need the latest Grieg Kneckels intermediate pyramiding bullshit thing to get jacked so just pick up some heavy stuff and eat well you slut.
>>
>>41826950
Just up sets/reps/weights each session. There is no need to overthink this stuff.
>>
>>41827008
Because your strength comes from fiber recruitment by your nervous system while muscle mass is linked to the draining of glycogen stores in the muscle as well as the stressting of the muscle cells themselves. Each requires different stimulus because they are drastically different biological processes.
>>
>>41827081
>add weight for fast twitch

No. Fast bar speed and you train more explosively and use quick bursts of movement which will often use less weights or often no weights at all.
>>
>>41827544
That's only half right. This link seems to have it mostly correct:
https://www.acefitness.org/blog/5714/slow-twitch-vs-fast-twitch-muscle-fibers

Read the parts about fast twitch fibers and when they are engaged.
