Greetings /fit/izens.
5'8" 175 lbs. male looking for some input.
I am a mostly sedentary /v/irgin who has managed to maintain the same bodyweight over the last 4 years while managing to do basically nothing. I will be starting medical school soon, my vidya time will be diminished, and I will need another stress management technique for school. I have needed to lose 25 or so lbs. for the last 4 years and I believe the time to start is now.
But I have some concerns about the process.
#1 Because I have maintained my weight by doing nothing, will any amount of activity show some results?
#2 I will probably end up joining a wellness center associated with my school. Should I consult a trainer there? Is that necessary?

Honestly if we talking about lifting exclusively only advanced individuals may need it, aside from BB which is fairly simple.
