By protein goal, do you mean 0.8 per lb of my body weight, then no, that's something I will do once my weight has bottomed out and I am climbing back up focusing on gaining muscle.

I am eating a very good amount of protein to be sure, with lots of salmon, lean chicken, and sometimes protein bars, I would say around 80-g100g-120g depending on the day, but certainly not 180-200g or whatever the bodybuilding amount is.

as for nutrients, I'm taking both omega-3s, multivitiman, and eating plenty of vegetables so I have to imagine I'm fine on that front. I don't track my protein/carb/fat ratio very closely, I just make sure that I get a decent amount of protein in each day, that's about as much effort as I put into things.

A typical day for my might be some nonfat greek yogurt + a banana for breakfast, some type of precooked meal in the 400-500 calorie range for lunch which is typically having a decent amount of protein, usually with chicken or beef, and then typically brown rice, vegetables, and a meat protein for dinner.

The lunch might also be something like cheese + crackers + protein bar, something to get into the 500 calorie range.

ah well, I haven't bothered to calculate my bf%, but I'm willing to guess that I'm eating more than enough protein because I do put quite an emphasis on that. I may reduce my calories to 1400 at some point, but I don't think I'll ever go lower than that. So the deficit will eventually go down to something like 800, 700, etc.

I have a new meal plan set so that I'm consuming 1200 calories per day and hitting my protein and nutrient goals- however, I noticed that I'm only get 28g of carbs per day under this plan.

How do I stop eating lads? I have fucking lost the plot and have gained 10 lbs in 3 weeks of eating lots of garbage.

I spent like an hour today watching videos of people eating/preparing fast food. I felt like I couldn't resist any more and was just about to grab my keys and drive to Wendy's when instead I decided to do calisthenics for a half hour. Afterward I just had a salad (no dressing) and felt fine.

There was meat in the spaghetti sauce, hamburger. I had chicken yesterday. I mean my diet isn't really changing. My brother is fit, my Mom is skinny and short and my Dad is tall and lean and they all eat the same food as me. I don't come from a house where everyone is fat and our entire extended family is fat and we've been eating deep fried shit for 60 years. My family has had financial troubles though so I always feel bad wasting food. So my Dad will always ask me if I'll finish off leftovers for him so he can clean dishes and shit.

The end result is I end up eating like 4 servings of dinner every day. I'm not doing this anymore and I'll post results.

A typical dinner is

We never have desert. Generally theirs sauces of some kind. We have fruit of some kind available but like 80% of the time its bananas.

Cravings and hunger are two different things. I enjoy being in a fasted state too, but often cravings for a coffee or sugar will ruin that for me.

Another thing to do is that whatever goal of carbs you consume they should be low glycemic index carbs. They'll last longer in your organism, you'll be sated for longer periods of time and experience less cravings. All carbs are not created equal.

I've dropped a lot and hit 2 plateaus so far and sympathise - they are discouraging and it's strange to be eating healthily, active and suddenly, blam, no progress. I can only say persist with your efforts and research. There's a variety of ways to deal with it, from going back to maintainence calories for a week or two to changing your exercise routine to intermittent fasting. You will break through it.

As an example, the last 3 weeks were driving me crazy, no change in weight despite the usual efforts and then blam, this week I had an 11lb loss. Obviously there was water-retention or something going on (I blame it on wizardry) but yeah, fucking weird. The body is a bit of a strange thing though when you think about it.

Just don't make the mistake I made earlier this year by nearly throwing the towel in for a few months. That doesn't help at all and just wastes your time and depletes any motivation you have even further. Persistence is the key.

I can't give up since my only shot at independence is joining navy and being some kind of officer, fingers crossed for nuke. The maintenance theory is interesting but I'm going to first try eliminating the last amount of junk I still eat while keeping an even closer eye on my calories. If that doesn't work I'll try eating at maintenance levels.

The way I do cheat days is I weigh myself every two weeks and if I lost more than 5 pounds I allow myself one "cheat meal" in that it's just a day where I don't stress calories much. Not to say I gorge myself but I'll eat out that day and not fuck with "oh shit let me get 2 oz of the dressing on the side and plug ever drink into mfp". Maybe bake something fun and share with friends without stressing out over calories.

If I didn't lose 5 lbs in two weeks I buckle down harder and try to figure out why.

I am really disappointed at how high many calories are in chicken breast. I am short so I am eating 1600 a day. I used to have like 3 chicken breast for a meal and now I can only have one with a lot of veggies to fill me up.

I overate for years and I didnt listen to my body telling me I was full. Maybe my stomach stretched out? I was eating for comfort/emotional reasons. My standard mcdonalds order was 1 large fry, 20 mcnuggets, and a mcdouble (i don't like cheese) and a large soda. I would eat this when I was sad or upset.

So say follow that after 2 weeks you lost 5lbs then for a single "cheat" day instead of a 500-300 deficit you eat at 100. You still count the calories it's just more for a single day. And maybe increase protein as well for that day since you can.
