I read an article saying to run first thing in the morning before eating so body burns fat from body. Is this good advice

It's true but in a non usable way. Percentually, lower intensity training burns more calories from fat, but higher intensity training burn more calories overal and thus also calories from fat. The empty morning one bases on the no carbs available assumption and thus would increase fat burn. It's alright, go for it if you like doing so.

There was a recent study (can't find it) that showed males burn more fat fasted, and females burn more when fed. They made the participants wear some mask thing bag measured the Gases they breathed out and in turn could work out how much stuff was burnt. It was quite a small sample size but compelling none the less
