Back bridges are great, especially for people who sit a lot.
>>
>>41775857
they are a damn good exercise that can release some stress in your back.
Im no expert but when I do these and squeeze my glutes really hard/hold it for as long as I can to the point where its unbearable it feels amazing after releasing

I like them a lot, and to do upside-down push-ups while in the back bridge pose.
>>
how the fuck do I get to that position?

start here, and then just push.
>>
Whwt are the benefits of this

doesn't it stretch the back out excessively?
>>
>>41776176
try it.
it's not too much of a stretch, also you can control how far you go.
they're great because they activate so many muscle groups and improve flexibility in lots of ways
>>
>>41776197
It's said that you don't want a flexible back though. You want flexible shoulders and hips but not back, you want it rigid and stable
>>
>>41776197
>Many therapy approaches have the objectives of strengthening muscle and increasing spine range
of motion. This is problematic (Parks et al, 2003) since those who have more motion in their
backs have a greater risk of having future back troubles. Strength may, or may not, help a
particular individual as strength without control and endurance to repeatedly execute perfect
form increases risk. Interestingly, the differences between many “troubled backs” (the chronic
back with recurrent episodes) and matched asymptomatic controls performing the same jobs
have been shown to be variables other than strength or mobility.
>>
They're a stretch. Not even close to a workout.

How someone could consider this a workout, I have no idea.
>>
>>41776563
Stretching is form of working out you fucking retard
>>
>>41776563
>pushups are a pec stretch
>>
I have no idea but it feels good.
>>
>>41775857
its that weird exercise you see the girl in a porn video doing before she gets fucked by her new trainer.
>>
>>41776563
considering half of fit probably can't hold one for 5 seconds, if they can even make it to the position, I'd say it's not as easy as you're thinking.

Gymnastics coach here.
Bring your legs together and try to open your shoulders.

The primary bend should come from the thoracic region. Ideally the lumbar should remain straight, so that you look like the Nike swoosh.

Bridges are a good exercise. Keep doing them. Once you can comfortably hold a good bridge with straight legs, work on slowly transferring the load to your arms until you can go from a bridge directly to a handstand.
>>
>>41777145
not op, but can you expand quickly on what it means to open your shoulders
>>
>>41777145
thank you sir, I will keep doing them and work on correcting the form
>>
>>41777277
Not the coach, but gymnast here. Look up hip flexor stretches too. People often don't take these into account.

I bridge once a week, sometimes more. Short and straight bridges to warm up, then full bridges as my main sets. Soon I'm going to try to wall-walk bridges.

I find it to be a great exercise to stretch my anterior chain, especially the day after doing hanging leg raises.
>>
>>41776728
I can hold these for minutes. No part of me is sore from it.
>>41776571
Except the stretch is not one where the muscles being stretched are producing significant force. You are a complete novice if this is a workout for you.
>>41776605
^
>>
>>41777277
I like to start out with a glute bride, feet are 6-8" inches away, and knees tracking inside hips.
With hands at side, I come into the bridge. I then work my hands underneath my body clasping them, while rolling my shoulders under. This is where you go into full bridge... the end all is to progress into a handstand.

Lol you are fucking stupid

I've been wanting to do this before I even knew what they where called.
I fail at this so hard.

Everything's a struggle. Have to force my hands flat. I don't feel as if I have the muscle definition in my arms to support upholding myself.

Or maybe I'm just to call for the position. Im over 6ft.??
