>tfw keep fucking barbell rows up
Can I substitute inverted rows (since I know how to do them) and use a weight belt to progress instead? Does it really matter since it's all the same muscles being worked?
I'm going to try to get the form right but this is really demotivating.
Feet like a deadlift and imagine pulling your elbows up with the movement.

Unless you're wearing the weighted belt around your chest, then no.

I know how you feel. Just keep experimenting with any barbell row variation you can find until you are satisfied. Just gonna do heavy rack pulls followed by bent over 90° rows from now on.

try pendlay rows

Yeah, I haven't been focusing too much on elbows, I feel like I just focus on trying to pull with my back.

Noted.

The more I think about it the more I think I shouldn't pussy out and just keep fighting the barbell rows. We're all gonna make it.

That's what I'm trying to do. Off the floor, back straight, but I'm sucking at it. There's a guy who's stronger than me who's been coming to the gym at the same time as me and started talking to me, maybe I'll ask him if he knows anything about rows.

This video helped a lot with my barbell rows. Keep trying, bro.

It took me a while OP but I persevered.
Do it bro.
First few sessions of barbell row it hurt my back more than deadlifting.
As I kept going and my core got developed through other lifts, I found I could more easily maintain posture, which allowed me to put more focus on the row.
You can do it.

Not sure if you're talking about regular barbell riws or pendlay rows but here's a short how-to pendlay row:

There's also other pendlay row videos on the suggestion bar as well. Good luck man.
