Shitty brands often have miscalibrated weights though. Also when it comes to bumpers there is a not insignificant difference between brands.

Also if the plate on the right weighs 43 lbs and the one on the left weighs 47 it will fuck your shit up. And yes, that's how much(or more) the weights differ with shitty brands.
I've always trained using my dad's old equipment he got like 30 years ago which is a full set of the plates marked standard
I was having trouble doing 2pl8 bench at home and then I went to another gym with a friend for a day and it felt like ten pounds lighter using ivanko plates
