Hello fellow /fit/bros,
I read in an article somewhere that forearms are like abs and you can train them quite a few times a week without the threat of over training.
If I train directly forearms three times a week, will it help me with my ectomporph arms?
This gives me motivation for my forearms

You have to learn to shoot lemons out of your hands to have Mega-man forearms

Although the exact numbers vary between sources, it is generally accepted that Mike Patton does AT LEAST 27 sets of direct forearm work each week, minimum.
This includes basic isolations, as well as training for supinators, pronators, extensors, and a 'strong' ;) focus on crushing strength (Some even claim to have seen him close a captains of crush 3.5 for 9 reps!)
He has been doing this extensive workout for at least 20 years, all natty, so it shouldn't be an issue for you to do what you're talking about

Wow!

If I recall correctly Bruce Lee trained forearms and abs almost everyday as he thought this is where striking power generated from.

Brian Shaw only directly trains forarms once a week due to them working on everything he does. If he did it more it would negatively impact his lifts and goals. His forarms are massive as fuck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4JOTmA8Pts&t Grip work i know but maybe something here will help you?
