I cannot for the life of me get bench form perfectly. I know all the tips and stuff, retracting scapula, arching back etc and I try to do these things and as far as I know I do. Even so, anytime I get remotely heavy my rotator cuffs in my shoulder feel uncomfortable. Can anyone help?
how is your row compared to your bench

About 160lbs row for 8
Bench 190lbs for 5
I used to row more but I had a lower back problem and had to back off it for a while

Your row should be higher than your row. Train mid and rear delt, too

I have the same problem. I fucked up my arm a bit yesterday doing bench because of that shit.

your row should be around the same as your bench
train your thoracic extension by doing more rows, pull ups, face pulls, etc

thanks man, I never realized that there's a bit of Steve Irwin in Joe Rogan

you could ask for random, anonymous dyels for advice online. People who don't know a single thing about you and have never seen you train. Or you could contact an experienced strength coach in your area for 1on1 hands on teaching. Dumb fuck.

there are people who have benched competitively for decades in your area. they will help you. if you ask them nicely and humbly they might even do it for free.

>/fit/ should never have threads about lifting!

bench with more volume and frequency to get the motor pattern perfect, but keep each set far from failure
terminate everything at like RPE 8 or 8.5 so your form stays consistent and clean

Not inherently true that this is the best course of action. Powerlifters do indeed know how to bench, but frequently the same types are people who never had trouble with benching. Ie they're built for it and don't understand other people's problems with it, who have completely different frames.
