Do unconventional exercises (e.g. hack squats, Bulgarian split squats, Jefferson deadlifts) actually work or have I been watching too much Eric Bugenhagen?
>>41695670
seems to work for him
>>41695670
what do you mean "work"?
>>41695712
Are they more or less effective compared to conventional lifts like diddlys or squats and are they worth doing.
>>41695670
No, weight resist training doesn't work with heavy loads, matter of fact does thousands of reps with a pencil always grant the best results

>Do unconventional exercises actually work?
They're heavy compound lifts. Why the fuck would they not work? Is there something inherently magic about Press, Bench, Squat and Deadlift?
Bulgarian split squats are great. Romanian deadlifts are great too. The Black Sea is giving us some quality exercises.
Sumo deadlifts are like the new cool thing for everyone, and they're really good. Not sure about those nutbuster deads though.
>Does lifting weights work?
Gee I don't know man

What's the benefits of romanian/sumo deads over the normal one?
How is this even a question, please try to use your own brain.
>Short and obvious answer for you:
They will make you stronger in those lifts and most likely have some carry over to "normal" squats and deadlifts due to the similar movement.

The principle of Specificity always applies, especially in strength training.

Constant tension and an active eccentric. Slamming weights on the floor might sound cool, but you're missing a substantial part of the exercise.
