Pretty much.

One of the best IMO. He really knows how to program oly lifting. Most people here in /owg/ program for themselves and they're clueless. They put too much intensity to squats and pulls whichs destroys the whole week for oly lifting (you will feel slow and can't concentrate the same way. Also you don't make those explosive gains the same way, because most of the time you lose the sensitivity of the power generation.

My coach makes pretty light sessions too, but i'm always rocking the oly lfits and ready. Too much volume and i'll only make some squat / pull gains while oly lifts go down.
>>
Oly lifting would be more beneficial than powerlifting for increasing sprint/vert, correct?

thanks
the classics seem to stay under your 1rm for the whole 12 weeks, so should you or should you not try maxing at all during that time?
>>
>>41683029
>Oly lifting would be more beneficial than powerlifting for increasing almost everything (except for body fat ofc), correct?
Here you go la'
>>
>>41683029
Yes, both sprint/vert are more about explosive power rather than absolute power. Powerlifting can build the base, but you need to constantly put that power to practice to keep up with your absolute strength.

>B-but rippetoe said that..
He has his own opinion and ways to talk about things

>>41683058
Doesn't sound like a beginner program, if you've been lifting less than a year. If you're not, follow the program. 1RM is not as important as consistency, tech and power development.

When is your next competition?
>Inb4 not competing
>>
Anyone have a link to a beginner routine or powerlifting to weightlifting transition routine?
>>
>>41683134
might be competing in august, depending on how much I can improve my lifts
and yeah, I'm pretty much a beginner still, so I guess I'm expecting some noob/tech gains
>>
>>41682546
many of them do
