Doing ok. Averaging 1450-1500 calories a day. Upped my workouts from 3 days a week to 7 days a week.

lost 30 lb since february. averaging about a lb to a 1.5 lb a week.

Fry some garlic in a tablespoon of olive oil, add fresh spinach (300grams for me)
When sweated remove from heat and try to squeeze as much of the liquid as possible.
Chop them and add to the ricotta (250 grams) and 20 grams of Parmesan.
Boil cannelloni pasta and fill up with the ricotta mix.
I made 17 cannelloni total, served with tomato sauce on top and some more cheese, bake in the oven until the cheese is golden.

I know, Anon, my mom does the same thing. Matter of fact I had saved a celery for making vegan lentil stew yesterday night, and when I get to cooking in the kitchen it's all gone. I ask where it is, she says she made some sort of flour based carbloaded traditional third world soup with the macros of a fast food meal combo drink included. Protip mom, it's not because you throw in a couple celery branches in there that it's going to be healthy. Whatever man, I am moving out soon anyway and I won't have to deal with this shit anymore. It's not like I don't cook for myself and buy my own groceries, it's that there are literal goblins raiding the fridge to loot my gains on a daily basis. My brother is guilty of that too. I always keep a water bottle to get cold in the fridge at all time to rotate when I finish one. He comes along the other day, can't be fucked putting one for himself, and takes the water bottle to bring it to his room. I put my foot down and said, hey I am saving this bottle to drink I need it, and proposed to give him half of it in a jug because I am nice. it's like I live in a fucking barn where everyone serves themselves only, no one has the fucking consideration to think, hmm who put this bottle/celery here? do they need it? are they looking forward to consuming it?

oh wow, I expected much more carbs for a serving, I could realistically eat three servings and not fall out of ketosis. I won't consume any more than that since I will probably have to share with my family, and by sharing I mean them eating a decent amount at dinner, then sneaking into the kitchen late night to scarf the whole 10 servings left in a binge. so realistically I will have 3 servings of it. If you have no self control, don't buy this stuff in the first place ever. Throw out whatever junk you have now, preferably dump everything instead of just throwing the bags in the trash so you aren't tempted to be a fucking raccoon.

When I was a lot fatter I basically had no self control around nearby junk food either, but found it was pretty easy to avoid purchasing bad food in the first place. Fortunately now I have the discipline to occasionally buy this stuff and enjoy it without binging. In time, you can reach this point too.

Normally happens. Your body runs on carbs your whole life and your body converting to ketosis will usually have short term effect (LBM, Lightheadedness, Keto Flu, etc.) But once you surpass a month or two, you will be reaping the benefits of Ketosis.

The best diet is the one you stick to it religiously. Don't change it every time because you're not seeing results for a week.

Not been feeling good today. Recently been getting really bad mood swings from not eating much, felt practically suicidal yesterday, today in a really bad mood too. My breakfast is 3 protein weetabix, coconut milk, sweetener (o calories). I then wait most of the day for my evening meal of mostly vegetables, which I'm fine with except when I'm out and about. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, it's been 7 weeks since I've started dieting and exercising. For the last 3 weeks I've had no weight loss: I'm stuck at the 83kg/182lb to 84kg/185lb range.

I'm eating about 1700 calories (300~ deficit), and 3 times a week I'm doing about an hour worth of weightlifting exercises in my house (I got those adjustable dumbbells and every session I try to increase either the reps or the amount of weight on them).

I THINK I'm seeing some visual progress (a little less fat around the waist, slightly bigger arms), but I might just be deluding myself.

tl;dr My weight hasn't changed for the last 3 weeks, even though I think I'm doing every thing right. Is it possible I'm gaining an equivalent amount of lean mass while losing fat weight?

How do you feel right now, anon? It may be worth taking a few minutes to meditate on your current state of mind. Do you feel in control right now? Are you worried you may binge?

Instead of trying to keep yourself from eating, maybe try a snack high in fiber and nutrients, but also have a nice healthy fat with it. I find myself getting kind of nutty and pre-binge-y because I haven't had enough fat in my diet the previous couple days.

i used to be just like it. I watch some episodes as well as obesity documentaries, but not entirely for the same reason. I am doing psychocognitive therapy on my psyche by eating my meals while I eat this so I appreciate the true value of food, as well as disgust myself enough not to overeat and basically to keep a mental image of what I could live like if I did not keep healthy habits.

I know it's slow. I've been in this for nine months and only lost 15kg. that's due to not really paying as close attention to it as i should have (if i was more strict with myself i would have easily been 20kg down by now), but don't let that get you down!
Getting healthier is extremely long-term. In fact, it's a lifetime decision. You will cheat and feel shitty about it, you will swing a little in weight, you will have random stops in weight loss for several weeks and have to troubleshoot your own body to find the source and fix it.

You are a soul in a brain piloting a fleshmech, anon. A fleshmech that needs to be upgraded, checked and maintained. If you have enough dedication to become your own mechanic, you will see stable, long-term results.

My best advice to not get discouraged by how slow your life is moving is to take progress pictures and measure yourself.
Weigh yourself every week, on the same day, at the same time, naked.
Measure your neck, hips, waist and thighs every month on the same date. Then take progress pics and write your measurements on them along with your weight.

Looking back at those pictures a year from now will be incredibly satisfying, i promise.

listen anon, it's not much you're working with in terms of overlaying fat tissue. You can shred that if you go on a more drastic cut, but I'd recommend starting weight lifting and sticking at it for at least a year eating clean and sufficiently before you decide to shred that fat. Why? Because then you'll have muscle to show for underneath and not fat and bones as it is now. This is the result of going from fat to skinnyfat bud, you need to work on muscle building now to "look good" or get the look you've vizualised starting this.

i'm down 30 lbs and i've completely cut out eating candy and drinking soda. i really don't crave it any more.
However, i still very much enjoy cooking and baking, so they way i've managed that is by baking something extremely delicious and bringing to work or giving to my room mate.
My roomie has also gotten a bit fatter since I moved in two months ago.

i like the guy and i don't want anything bad for his health. Do I need to stop baking so he will stop eating it all, or is it his responsibility to limit himself when i bake?

It's not on me. I had no control over it. I ate what was put on my plate and in my lunchbox and now that I'm a young adult I'm a fat mess.

In college I went on a permabulk lifting spree for a year and a half which didn't help either. After that I went on a weight loss diet doing cardio and maintenance lifting but stopped lifting because I felt so fucking tired all the time. Now I'm just the basic not-so-skinny skinnyfat.

I remember back in 2014 when I started getting into lifting I was 185lbs. I want to see if I can get down to that again, I know I'll look better at that weight than when I started. As a fallible human being, I made a mistake and missed a Friday weigh-in that impacted the bracket. I've since rectified it and that mean's the following -

Last weekend I went on a bender, getting drunk and definitely ate over my maintenance.

The good news is I've maintained 1200-1500 cal per day since Monday. Doesn't seem to have stalled my progress much at all but I'm gonna stay clean and straight this weekend. Weighed it at 203 this morning.

The way I handle my weigh in is to always do it in the morning after I shit and before I shower. I eat on an IF schedule (16 hours fasting after 6-8pm) with 2 meals a day so it should keep my bowel movements a little more consistent and thus limit the crazy fluctuations you can get. That shit can be discouraging if you aren't aware of how much of a difference weighing yourself has depending on time of day.

Most of you seem to eat the completely opposite what you should. It's like you are trying to gain weight and starve instead of lose weight and feel fully. Take 80% of daily calories from white rice, pasta and potatos you will be fine and your bloodwork will be fine withing weeks. Cut all dairy and fatty foods. Little meat is ok.

The body lowers your BMR if you cut calories and eat less, which is why people stall and Yo-Yo rebounds are a thing.

He's kinda right. It's not as simple as CICO. It takes more energy to digest a calorie of protein than a calorie of sugar and even more energy to digest a calorie of fat. So someone on a low carb, high fat or high protein diet will burn more calories due to digestion than someone who eats the same calories of carbs. And even carbs aren't all the same. It takes more energy to digest whole raw food than cooked food of the same calories. Also takes more energy to digest high fiber than low fiber.

That's why high fat, high protein, raw food, high fiber, low carb are all recommended for weight loss

The fasting part is no problem. I won't get appetite if I don't eat in the morning so absolutely no problem to go until the afternoon without food.
But then, every few days, after I ate dinner, the craving start. Craving everything: sweets, carbs, fat, meat. I just fucking stuffed myself until my stomach seriously hurt and I could still go on. It's crazy. I never had this before.
I mean, I'm still at TDEE so it's not absolutely dramatic, but these cravings can't be healthy. And I had them last weekend as well.
