/fit/'s subject matter is directly personal and thus causes a stronger emotional response than hobby based boards like /v/ or /pol/.

It is, especially since they use it as an occasion for arts and crafts. Politics has been denatured into a "lower game" the same way sport has, now most people engage in it because it's fun/personally cathartic, not out of any superior intent.

Because /fit/ is the only board that admits its flaws and sees that you alone have to put the effort in to improve. From this deep critique towards oneself insecurity arises.
