Vitamin E is always good, and always trim them long hairs so you won't look like the town rapist. Besides that just try not to give up and even the hot days are coming, don't get the urge to cut it cause down the line it will already be part of you, and the beard will even keep you cool in the heat. You linked to a study on mice. That doesn't show peppermint oil does anything for humans. Animal studies are only good for researchers looking for things to test on humans. Only look at for studies on humans when looking for info on substances you use or intend to use on yourself. if none exist, then you can't know anything about what it does to you except that which you can notice yourself.

I thought the mechinism of Minoxidil wasn't known? This seems to be the case in the study. Two different substances with mysterious mechanisms having a similar effect in mice doesn't really increase the probability of the same happening in humans, in my opinion. Minoxidil is known to work but peppermint oil is a different substance and the human is a different animal. I'd say it's worth trying, if it's cheap to get peppermint oil. It could be useful, after all.

I meant the hair growing mechanism, not minoxidil. Minoxidil mechanism of action is not known, but evidence points towards vasodilation and improving circulation and this helping facial hair get to the anagen phase.
