If you're not lifting equipped (suites, shorts, knee wraps) then in almost every case of a failed lift it's because the core couldn't stay rigid, and I don't really think it's possible to get a core stronger than your legs.

Only really a solid "no" if the person is natty and isn't doing equipped lifting. But yeah, people snap their legs and shit up all the time in equipped lifting, natty or on gear.

If you're targeting quads more than hamstrings shorter ROM is fine with low foot placement. You go down just enough to feel the quad stretch and you never fully lockout on the press to keep the tension on. :^)

Looks like he tore his pec or dislocated the shoulder. In any case, some kind of sudden injury happened.
This is why you should always bench with safety rails, you never expect it when something in your body just suddenly blows up. Spotters would never react in time for something like that.

Squat is a natural movement for the body.

Pushing the knees to complete lockout and extension at that angle in the leg press, and with that load, is just begging for the joints to collapse. The knee is extremely mobile after all.
