>tfw I worked out for the first time in years 2 days ago and my legs still hurt so bad I'm walking like I got my butthole blown the fuck out

is this normal? wtf do I do?

Yes.

Not being a little bitch 1xInfinity should help.

No but seriously, post workout soreness gets way less severe as time goes on. Within a few workouts it will be mild. Within a few weeks, it'll only last a week. Within a few months it basically doesn't happen baring something way out of the ordinary like doing really high rep work when you're used to low reps or something.

>Within a few weeks, it'll only last a week
it'll only last a day*
>>
It gets better. The pain is most severe and long lasting at the start in order to weed out the quitters
>>
whenever I can't go to the gym for a couple weeks the soreness is really bad my first week or so, and then I get back to normal
>>
I thought I was in pretty good shape. Lifted 3 days a week, and was pretty lean.

GF asked me to do this new thing called "Insanity" from a video. I said why not.

Holy fuck. Couldn't walk right for a week. My coworkers laughed at me everytime I walked across the room because my calves locked up.

Apparently in all my lifting, I never really "jumped" much and my calves made me pay.

THat said, I can kill any of the Max videos on Insanity and practically don't feel a thing..../
>>
I remembered my soreness from when I started working out and how it isn't like that anymore. I still feel it just not nearly as much and I wondered if I needed to push myself harder or something.
>>
It's normal. To combat this, I stretch each muscle for 30 seconds both post-workout and in the shower. Stretching helps A LOT. When I first started working out, my legs were in such sorry shape that I had to position my butt and fall into chairs since I couldn't bend my legs at all.

Thanks everyone I'm excited to work out again because it felt good to work on myself but I'm in such pain I think I need to rest it off.

Quit being a pussy. That should help.

OP, google DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness)

It basically means you're doing your job right, just make sure you eat your protein to fill in those muscle tears you earned
>>
>lifted for a year and a half
>at the beginning DOMS lasted for 2 days MAX
>had little to no DOMS after a few months of lifting
>completely quit lifting for 2 years
>recently started again and DOMS last for 4-5 days
wtf
>>
>>41663235
Guess your volume is higher now than when uou started
>>41662588
I had that when i started lifting again after a year and half pause.
God damn that first leg session. My loo is pretty low so I was stuck for 5 minutes after shitting trying to stand up. Didnt help that I was still sore on my shoulders and chest so i could only pull
>>
>>41663334
I did a bodyweight routine on monday (pullups, pushups, dips, etc.) and I still have extreme DOMS nearly 5 days later

I've never had DOMS this bad even when I was doing a brosplit and later a PPL routine

It feels like Ive torn my pec even though its not the case

am I just getting old ? Or was I just a retard for doing all those bodyweight exercices after 2 years of no lifting ?
