>be fatfuck
>go out running
>push myself and run until I'm out of breath, walk some at a brisk pace, run again after a couple of seconds, rinse, repeat
>come home
>almost coughing up my fucking lungs
What gives /sp/? I stopped smoking on sunday, but this has been a persistent problem through my life.

/fit/ I mean, not /sp/. my head is tired from being awake for quite a while along with going outside twice today.

I went for a run in the woods yesterday and there were two big black labs whose owner let them off the leash so we chased each other for a few miles and it was a lot of fun. They were very nice doggos.

Ex smoker here. Your lungs are just untrained.
When I was boxing regularly I had a far better cardio than I did after a 8 month break due to health problem.
You'll need to power through. Losing weight helps tremendously as well.

I was smoking till monday ( 10-15/day) quitted for 72 hours and instantly improved my stamina ALOT
hey anon, did my first half marathon last year, trainng for full (26m, 42.2km) in a month. You'll find that your capacity to run, stamina, pain tolerance, everything fucking quaruples on the day, because of hype. good luck <3

Yes it does improve a lot, but years of smoking do leave a mark on your lungs, especially if they're untrained.

What times did you do/aiming for?
I'm training for the border patrol academy. In the Army running came natural, but now 8 years later I'm struggling. What gives?

>be 18yo me
>get offers to run collegiate cross country and track
>do it for a year, realize I'm 6'0 140lbs king of skellys, for no reason
>quit and start lifting
Great decision.
