This makes me happy.

So I lifted for the first time in over a year yesterday. I know you're suppose to take it slow but I decided to just try my old working sets instead. I got up to 375lbs for 3 without any grinders so I've only lost 2 reps.

Honestly it seems like as long as you don't lose weight not much of your strength will be lost at least in the legs. I'm less optimistic about my bench press though.

My tibial tuberosity has been hurting since I jumped on some concrete of couple of times. Putting on a basic knee sleeve helps but I'm not sure if that's because it's actually supporting the knee or if it's just cutting off circulation and therefore dulling the pain.

Chest and back. Gonna do bench, spoto press, rows, pulldowns, and some dumbbell bench. Should be fun.

I've been having zero bench gains this cycle, and I'm sad about it. I think it's because I did an Arnold split in an effort to spread out my workload. It left me with heavy bench (chest and back) the day before heavy OHP and tricep isolations (shoulders and arms).

I'm trying to figure out how to do a six-day split like this without that problem, because I don't often have time to be spending more than an hour and a half per session, but I can go as many days as needed.

How do you guys determine if a squat rep should be "let down".
Like when you deadlift you feel if something is too strong - you feel the form derivation and let go because it's too heavy to lift without shit form.

How is it in the squat? Is it when you get too much on your knees in the way up?
A rep can feel 105% if I try to keep everything where it is, but then I can still do it if I really push for it and it feels like I am more on my knees - not sure.

At this point I'm just looking for something fun and something I can just yololift. I've tried C6W and 28Free which kind of worked but I just get bored very fast.

Valgus is around 1/2 - 1 cm on challenging reps, less if I push my knees out less.

I guess I always have some power left in the tank with my squats, never failed one and always when I feel like I will fail the next rep I push it up really fast, like I'm just trying harder suddendly.

Kind of opposite for me.
I have noticeably more knee valgus if I initiate the movement by pushing my hips back instead of sitting down.

I feel like a lot of people have issues with knee valgus simply because they push their knees way too far out in the bottom. Your quad can simply not work properly from that position and naturally your knees will shit back into a stronger position, which will look like valgus.

Check that see if you can somehow reproduce this.
What you described kind of sounds like weak quads though. It would make sense seeing that more back involvement fixes it for you, right?
Why not just squat with more back if it seems to work better for you?

Those flagstones are almost entirely free of weeds and moss and shit like that. How do you do it? I really, really need to know. Nothing I do can make my flagstones clean for more than a few weeks. Couple of years back I took a section and picked up every goddamn stone, brushed and cleaned, put them back, got that desert sand all over the place, and weeds came back some months later.

Yes. Did good some times, not so good other times. Been a while since that time, tho, so I don't remember much. Max + back-off sets, or an xRM, or just sets across.

I would not recommend doing it like you wrote. You need to be more conservative.
Work up to a single at your daily minimum (~75% of 1RM), keep working up on good days, stop there on bad days. Do back-off sets on good days, at 2-5 reps per set. Have three weeks "on", deload the fourth, increase daily minimum for the next cycle.

Please read more about high frequency training before starting it tho. Nuckols' Bulgarian Manual and Perryman's Squat Every Day, for instance (think there are some more about it, but can't remember them; Borge Fagerli has a few articles on it, but not in the Bulgarian fashion).

I'd say they're okay, but paused squats will probably be more useful. Normally I just go higher reps on box squats, so never had any issues with having to dump the weight, which would be awkward or difficult in a power rack. If you really want to be paranoid about the possibility of failing, then don't do a power cage, use a regular squat rack.

I like the idea a lot. I've done something similar in-between more stressful programming.

It's more successful than people think. If you try hard, you can get more done in 2 days than most of the GDE's get done on Sheiko or other high volume programs.
